What was your most memorable moment at your favorite summer concert?
Rich Davis, KDWB: Well, Taylor was pretty spectacular this summer. I remember seeing Def Leppard at the Great Allentown Fair when I was the night guy at B104 and hanging out with Rick Allen backstage was pretty awesome. I’m on brand here! Mike O’Donnell, WKRZ: All that really incredible food in the Taylor Swift suite! It was a spread and a half; I didn’t want to leave. Buster Satterfield, WIOQ: Setting the attendance record on Festival Pier in Philly for WiredFest with Calvin Harris, Iggy Azalea, G-Eazy and Diplo in 2016. Jana Sutter, WXXL: They all have amazing memories attached to them. It’s about being in the moment and enjoying those unique moments. Chris Michaels, FM100: I’ll never forget the time I saw Kenny Chesney the last week of July years ago at an outdoor amphitheater. It was over 100 degrees, and everyone looked like they just jumped into a swimming pool. It was the greatest show, and I have no idea how Kenny performed all over the stage that night. Dom Theodore, Radio Animal Media Strategies: Most of the summer concerts were station shows that I was working, but my favorite was when a competitor showed up and tried to flash their bat light on our stage. It didn’t end well for them. I won’t name names. Erik Bradley, B96: Essentially the entire Morgan Wallen performance on his “OTAAT” tour, as well as Taylor Swift‘s The Era’s Tour, which was incredible on all levels. |
Rick Vaughn, KENZ: Neil Young, Pearl Jam and Blind Melon outdoors in Portland getting body passed to the front of the stage and having Eddie Vedder slap my hand. I was being passed to the front to security because I had almost passed out from the heat, as did many others. Eddie just gave me five which I thought was very cool. Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: Paul McCartney bringing out Bruce Springsteen to sing “Glory Days.” Frankie V, KSSX / KHTS: Walking out on stage at KISS 108’s KISS CONCERT with my brother Mikey V, as the VBROS! Mom was sitting in the front row, and we shouted her out! She was in tears and looked so proud of us. A moment we will never forget. Brian Mack, iHeartMedia: So many, but I recall taking my mother to see U2 in Tampa, she must have been in her mid to late 60, and she was dragging me on the GA floor to get closer and closer to the stage snaking through all kinds of people. Still can’t believe that. Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: Last summer when Kane Brown gave us a preview of his new song a week before it came out was pretty cool. Bartel. WKTU: Way too many to mention. From Beatstock and KTUphoria to iHeart Festivals and beach concerts. I love and cherish every moment at any concert. Just great to have concerts and live music back after not having them for a while. R Dub!, Z90/Magic 92.5: 15 years old…a kiss under the fireworks at KRQ’s Red, White and Boom in 1992. |
Mike Miller, iHeartMedia: Watching my daughter sing and dance to every song at the Taylor Swift concert. She forgot about all the worries in life and just had fun. That moment was priceless. Guy Zapoleon, Zapoleon Consulting: My favorite moments were the surprise guests in concerts. When Christie Hynde showed up at boyfriend Ray Davies/Kinks concert. Jackson Browne showing up at an Eagles show, or even Denny Laine singing the Moody Blues classic ‘Go Now” a Wings concert. I wish was in London to see original singer Edwin Starr join Springsteen for an encore of “War.” Derrick Cole, WAEB: 2000, the old WMRQ in Hartford had a rain-soaked concert that included Nine Days. After repeatedly asking fans to not fling mud on stage, Nine Days who proceeded to egg on fans to hurl mud….which they did, all over the very expensive equipment. Needless to say, they canceled the rest of the concert but still of on the most memorable for me. Adam Rivers, WKCI / WKSS: Having Rihanna at WKSS 2006 Summer Kickoff Concert when I was in high school, at Six Flags New England. Sick moment. I was just on in the overnight at that point, but it was an awesome experience. Bo Bice was also on that show. They went in slightly different directions. |
