Former One Direction member Zayn sees his first solo release Mind of Mine debut at #1 on this week’s Billboard 200 chart. According to Nielsen, Mind of Mine earned 157,000 equivalent album units, 112,000 of which was in pure album sales. Zayn is the first UK-born solo male artist to debut at #1 on the Billboard 200 with their first record. Just last week, Gwen Stefani joined an exclusive club of artists to hit #1 both solo and as part of a group, and Zayn joins her just a week later.
R&B singer K. Michelle debuts at #2 with her third album, More Issues Than Vogue. Her 2013 debut album Rebellious Soul also opened at #2 on the Billboard 200.
Anti from Rihanna is at #3, with Purpose by Justin Bieber at #4 and Adele’s 25 at #5. Twenty One Pilots are at #6, followed by a debut for rapper Young Thug with Slime Season 3 at #7. Chris Stapleton is at #8 with Traveler. Rockers Asking Alexandria come in at #9 with The Black and the top ten is rounded out with The Weeknd.
