On Friday, iHeartMedia Top 40 WHTZ (Z100)/New York celebrated iHeartRadio Jingle Ball 2022 presented by Capital One at Madison Square Garden in New York City, NY.
The event featured iconic performances from today’s biggest artists including Dua Lipa, Lizzo, Charlie Puth, Backstreet Boys, The Kid LAROI, AJR, Demi Lovato, Lauv, Ava Max, Dove Cameron, Jax and JVKE.
The New York City crowd got in the holiday spirit all night long with performances from their favorite artists.
- Jax kicked off the show with her cover of “Teenage Dirtbag,” and shocked the crowd by bringing Wheatus’ own Brendan B. Brown out on stage for a surprise collaboration for the band’s hit song. She closed the incredible set with her hit single, “Victoria’s Secret.”
- JVKE sat center stage behind a piano and let his vocals shine for a live performance of his romantic ballad “golden hour.”
- Dove Cameron took over the stage to perform some of her biggest hits and got the crowd on their feet with a unique cover of fellow LGBTQ+ pop star Lil Nas X’s hit “Montero (Call Me By Your Name).”
- Ava Max stunned the crowd in a shimmering catsuit as she performed “Kings and Queens,” “Maybe You’re the Problem,” “Weapons,” and “Million Dollar Baby.” She wrapped her set with a medley of “Sweet but Psycho” and “The Motto.”
- Lauv performed a number of his hit songs, but everyone got into the spirit with his debut single, “I Like Me Better,” which the crowd couldn’t help but sing along to.
- Demi Lovato delivered a grungy rendition of her unapologetic song “Sorry Not Sorry.” With an all-female rock band behind them, the pop star continued the show by serving up other familiar hits like “Substance,” “Heart Attack” and “29.” The audience hung onto every note she belted out all the way until the end of the closing track “Cool for the Summer.”
- AJR kicked off their set with a “BANG!” The brothers Adam, Jack and Ryan Met continued their Jingle Ball set with fan-favorite anthems, including one that TikTok users would instantly recognize, leading into “Burn The House Down,” “World’s Smallest Violin,” and “Sober Up.”
- Lizzo, in a festive Mrs.Grinch-inspired look, told fans, “I’m feeling so Grinchy tonight. I’m definitely 100% that Grinch.” The star busted out her infamous flute during a special Grinch-mix of “Truth Hurts” and kept the energy high with hits including “About Damn Time,” “Good as Hell” and “Juice.”
- Backstreet Boys performed their classics including “Everybody” and “Larger Than Life,” while also getting into the holiday spirit with “Last Christmas.”
- The Kid LAROI kicked off his set with an acoustic rendition of “Stay,” his 2021 collaboration with award-winning artist Justin Bieber, and continued with “Love Again,” an unreleased song that he hinted would be his next song to debut. The international superstar opted to test the song during this live performance.
- Charlie Puth kicked things off with a stunning rendition of “Lightswitch” and then moved on to his memorable hit “We Don’t Talk Anymore.” The singer performed his viral smash “Left and Right” and hopped on the piano to sing his version of “This Christmas.” He closed out his set with lively performances of “One Call Away,” “Attention” and “See You Again.”
- To close out the star-studded evening, Dua Lipa had the audience dancing along as she sang her smash hits “Physical,” “New Rules,” “One Kiss,” “Cold Heart,” and “Don’t Start Now.”
iHeartRadio Z100’s Jingle Ball 2022 Presented by Capital One was carried live across the country on all iHeartRadio CHR stations nationwide and livestreamed exclusively via The CW App and CWTV.com. The mega-concert will air as a television special on The CW Network on Saturday, December 17 at 8 p.m. EST/PST.
Every year, Z100’s Jingle Ball Presented gives back to the community to celebrate the holiday season. This year’s official charity is the Ryan Seacrest Foundation – $1.00 of each ticket sold will be donated to the non-profit organization, which is dedicated to inspiring today’s youth through entertainment and education-focused initiatives.
