Non-comm Triple A WNRN/Charlottesville-Richmond announces that Patrick Coman has been named the station’s first Events & Promotions Coordinator. In this role he will oversee promotional and member events throughout the station’s Central Virginia broadcast network. Coman is a veteran of the music business and will bring to the role 10+ years experience as a booking agent, event producer, and radio host.
“At a time when radio stations are trimming positions, WNRN is growing and adding staff we cannot live without,” said GM/PD Mark Keefe. “Patrick is a great addition to our team and we’re thrilled he brings experience in many areas and a love for public radio – especially our version of it.”
Coman began his radio career at WUMB/Boston as a host and the station’s Member Concert Coordinator. In addition to producing segments and hosting specialty shows, he booked artists for the station’s member concert series and produced the monthly Third Thursday concert broadcast, which featured emerging artists performing for club audiences live on air. Most recently he was the evening host at WCNR/Charlottesville.
Before working in the radio industry Coman ran his own event production and booking agency, producing concert series and festivals throughout New England and booking tour dates for a roster of Americana/Indie Rock artists for his Sake of the Song agency.
