SummitMedia today named Victor Starr the new Director of Programming and Operations for the company’s Omaha cluster. He also serves as the Program Director for Top 40 KQCH.
Starr brings experience across the board, including audio, video and digital brand management. He’s skilled in programming, sales, production, events, marketing, digital and podcasting.
“Victor’s vast background and experience make him the perfect individual to lead our programming team,” said Market President Rick Parrish. “His leadership will help the continuing growth of each of our stations, with our audiences and our overall ratings.”
Most recently, Starr was the brand manager for Audacy/Entercom’s KQKS-FM and HD2 in Denver. In addition to directing the station’s brand experience and driving its strategic plan, he also coordinated and supervised the on air and online response to the COVID-19 pandemic. That won him the Colorado Broadcast Association’s Best Public Service Announcement in 2020 — “COVID is Real.” He’s also been named a Billboard Major Market Program Director of the Year.
“I am very excited to join a fantastic team in Omaha! The brands are great, the team is top notch and I am ready to help take the cluster to the next level of success,” Starr added. “A huge thank you to Rick Thomas, Randy Chase and Rick Parrish for this amazing opportunity.”
Starr assumes his new leadership role Nov. 8. He oversees SummitMedia Omaha stations that include AM 590 ESPN (KXSP), Channel 94.1(KQCH), Classic Rock 105.9 (KKCD), Star 104.5 (KSRZ) and Z-92 (KEZO).
