Vampire Weekend‘s newest album Father of the Bride debuts atop this week’s Billboard 200 chart, giving the band their third #1 release of their career. According to Nielsen Music‘s data, it earned 138,000 equivalent album units, 119,000 of were in album sales. Both numbers are the largest for any Rock album this year. The sales figures were driven in part by a concert ticket bundle for the album. Father of the Bride is the first Vampire Weekend album in six years and their first on Columbia Records.
At #2 is Billie Eilish with When We Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? followed by Khalid‘s Free Spirit at #3. The only other top 10 debut this week is from rapper/singer PnB Rock with TrapStar Turnt PopStar.
The rest of the top 10 is filled out with familiar names, as Ariana Grande is at #5, with P!nk at #6, ScHoolboy Q at #7, BTS at #8, Post Malone at #9 and Juice WRLD at #10.
