Rapper Travis Scott leads this week’s Billboard 200 chart with the second-largest week of 2018. The album earned 537,000 equivalent album units, 270,000 were traditional album sales, also giving Astroworld the biggest sales week this year. Astroworld‘s sales figures were boosted by a variety of bundled merchandise packages on Scott’s website. With 349.43 million on-demand audio streams, Nielsen Music ranks Astroworld with the fifth-largest streaming week of all time.
The only album with a bigger chart week this year was Drake‘s Scorpion, which falls to #2 this week after spending five weeks in a row at #1. Rapper Mac Miller has the second-biggest debut this week with Swimming at #3. beerbongs & bentleys from Post Malone is at #4 while YG debuts at #5 with Stay Dangerous. It is the rapper’s third top ten release. At #6 is Juice WRLD with Cardi B at #6 and the late XXXTentacion at #8.
Interestingly, the top eight albums this week on the Billboard 200 all come from hip-hop acts. Meanwhile, the top ten is rounded out with a pair of movie soundtracks: Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again at #9 and The Greatest Showman at #10.
