The Weeknd has landed his third #1 release in a row, as his surprise EP My Dear Melancholy debuts atop this week’s Billboard 200 chart. It earned 169,000 equivalent album units, 68,000 were in traditional album sales. According to Nielsen Music, it was the biggest week for an R&B album in over a year, since The Weeknd’s own Starboy in 2016. My Dear Melancholy was a digital-only release, with a physical CD due out April 13.
Rapper Rich the Kid debuts at #2 with his debut album The World is Yours with Country singer-songwriter Kacey Musgraves‘ newest album Golden Hour debuts at #4.
XXXTentacion is at #3 with ? with the soundtrack for The Greatest Showman at #5. The rest of the top ten is filled out with Black Panther: The Album (#6), Migos (#7), Post Malone (#8), Ed Sheeran (#9) and Logic (#10).
