As rumored, The Weeknd will be releasing a brand-new album this Friday, January 7. The pop star announced the record, titled Dawn FM, this morning with video trailer. The clip describes Dawn FM as “a new sonic universe from the mind of The Weeknd.”
The video also reveals a surprising mix of collaborators on Dawn FM: Quincy Jones, Tyler The Creator, Lil Wayne, Oneohtrix Point Never and, most interestingly, his fellow Canadian Jim Carrey. The teaser video ends with a voiceover saying “You are now listening to 103.5 Dawn FM. You’ve been in the dark for way too long. It’s time to walk into the light and accept your fate with open arms,” which sounds like Carrey speaking.
