Feeling grateful for Ric. Had the opportunity to send him this email a couple years back. My first king. Thank you, thank you, thank you. pic.twitter.com/h4u8CXDhRg

Don’t care what kind of music you are into, impossible to not like and appreciate @thecarsband songs. Debut album pretty much perfect. Incredible amount of great songs written by #ricocasek , not to mention his production work. #RIPRicOcasek

RIP #RicOcasek Cars were the first band I saw that qualified as new wave — their synths and leathers were too pricey for pure punk. Long gone, of course, and now Ric too, a sweet guy. Suicide was one of several outside bands he produced: https://t.co/9Xlu2kQFRR

I’m stunned and saddened by the loss of Ric Ocasek – he was a visionary who affected the lives and hearts of everyone who listened to music in the 80s. God Speed, Ric! Keep Moving in Stereo!

Awwwww Man….. Ric Ocasek was one of oddest, BEST Front Men EVER. The Cars! The TUNES! Ric Ocasek also showed Visionary taste in producing #BadBrains 2nd album Rock For Light. Am DEEPLY Bummed over this. Am a Cars FAN. https://t.co/yfz1yUyeuX

R.I.P. Ric Ocasek, lead singer with The Cars, at 75. A very cool cat. He was the first person to hear my album The Flat Earth from start to finish, in Mutt Lange’s house in Chelsea.

oh man. #RicOcasek influenced so many sounds i made in the studio; especially the year i listened to The Cars on repeat endlessly before recording “Theatre is Evil” with @congletonjohn. from a fellow bostonian: thank you, ric. i hope you are entering a gated snare drum in the sky

Last year, while writing, I listened to the first four Cars albums one afternoon in a row and it was pure power pop bliss. Might just have to do it again today. RIP Ric Ocasek. pic.twitter.com/kT0ue43GKx

Two weeks ago I was teaching my kid to drive while playing ‘drive’. I don’t think i played a single album more than I did their first album. RIP ric ocasek
