Taylor Swift won six more American Music Awards at Sunday night’s AMAs, including Artist of the Year, adding to her total as the most-honored artist in the history of the awards show. Swift now has 40 AMAs, having surpassed Michael Jackson‘s 26 AMAs a few years back. She actually won in all six categories she was nominated in. In addition to Artist of the Year, “All Too Well (Taylor’s Version)” was named Video of the Year, Swift won as Favorite Female Pop Artist, Red (Taylor’s Version) earned an AMA for Favorite Pop Album, Swift was also named Favorite Female Country Artist and Red (Taylor’s Version) won as Favorite Country Album too.
New Artist of the Year went to singer/actress Dove Cameron. Beyoncé earned three AMAs, for Favorite Female R&B Artist, Favorite R&B Album (Renaissance) and Favorite R&B Song (“Break My Soul”).
Harry Styles‘ hit “As It Was” won Favorite Pop Song, as Styles was named Favorite Male Pop Artist. BTS won as the Favorite Pop Duo or Group as well as Favorite K-Pop Artist. Kendrick Lamar won two AMAs, for Favorite Male Hip Hop Artist and Favorite Hip Hop Album (Mr. Morale & the Big Steppers). Elton John & Dua Lipa‘s “Cold Heart” (PNAU Remix) was named Collaboration of the Year. Bad Bunny picked up a pair of AMAs as well.
Lionel Richie, who was just inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame this month, was given the Icon Award.
The AMAs also included performances from P!nk, Lil Baby, GloRilla & Cardi B, Anitta & Missy Elliott, Dove Cameron and Imagine Dragons & JID, among others.
