As expected, Taylor Swift‘s surprise new album Folklore had a massive debut atop the Billboard 200, giving the Pop superstar her seventh #1 album. Folklore not only earned the largest week on the Billboard chart all of this year, but it had the largest total number of units since… Swift’s own 2019 album Lover. Folklore earned a total of 846,000 equivalent album units, according to Nielsen Music/MRC Data. Lover debuted at #1 in 2019 with 867,000 units. Billboard notes that over the past four years, the three largest chart weeks have all come from Swift. Her 2017 album reputation earned 1.24 million units in December of 2017.

Folklore’s debut of 846,000 equivalent album units included 615,000 in album sales. The album was not widely available physically, meaning all sales were via Swift’s own website or digitally. Folklore will arrive on CD at retailers later this week. With those 615,000 album sales, Billboard notes that Folklore is already the highest selling album for all of 2020 after just one week.

Coming in at #2 on the album chart is No Pressure from Logic, which the rapper says will be his final release. It earned 221,000 equivalent album units, 172,000 in album sales.

The late Juice WRLD is at #3 with Legends Never Die, followed by the posthumous release from Pop Smoke, Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon, at #4. The original Broadway cast recording of Hamilton is at #5, with Gunna‘s Wunna back to #6, thanks to a new deluxe edition with extra tracks. Lil Baby is at #7, with a debut from teen rapper The Kid LAROI at #8 with F*** Love. The top 10 is rounded out by Post Malone at #9 and Harry Styles at #10.
