For the fifth week in a row, Taylor Swift‘s new album Folklore is at #1 on the Billboard 200. Folklore is the first album to stay at #1 for five weeks in a row since Drake‘s album Scorpion in the summer of 2019. Lil Baby’s My Turn has also been #1 for five weeks in 2020, but not five consecutive weeks. According to Nielsen Music/MRC Data, Folklore earned another 98,000 equivalent album units during the latest charting week. Billboard notes that Swift also spent five weeks in a row at #1 with her debut album Fearless, which was at #1 11 times between 2008 and 2009, seven of those weeks in a row.
The biggest debut this week comes from veteran rapper Nas, whose new album King’s Disease arrives at #5. This gives Nas his 14th Top 10 album in his career. The Killers debut at #8 with Imploding the Mirage, the band’s sixth Top 10 album overall.
At #2 is Pop Smoke’s Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon, followed by Legends Never Die from Juice WRLD at #3. The original Broadway cast recording of Hamilton: An American Musical is at #4.
My Turn from Lil Baby is at #6, followed by Rod Wave‘s Pray 4 Love at #7. The Top 10 is rounded out with DaBaby at #9 and Post Malone at #10.
Also of note is that nine of the Top 10 albums on this week’s Billboard chart come from Universal Music Group, with the Hamilton soundtrack the only release that isn’t under the UMG umbrella.
