Solomon Sounds has been named Senior Vice President of A&R for Capitol Records, it was announced today by Capitol Music Group Chairman/CEO Jeff Vaughn, to whom Sounds will report. In his new position, Sounds will sign and develop artists for the company, as well as oversee recording projects for new and established Capitol artists. Sounds is based in the company’s New York offices.
Sounds comes to Capitol after 10 years as a highly successful manager of numerous artists through his company and label, Sounds Music Group. Among his notable clients was the late rapper XXXTentacion, whose career was cut short by his tragic and untimely death in 2018.

After a brief hiatus from the music business following XXXTentacion’s death and a joint venture with Republic Records in 2018, Sounds resumed managing artists. He achieved multi-platinum success with rapper StaySolidRocky, as well as securing deals for rappers ppcocaine, Cochise, 645Ar and BFB Da Packman.
