iHeartMedia Hot AC KMYI (Star 94.1 FM, San Diego’s Best Variety)/San Diego announced today that Shelley Wade has been named its new afternoon host, broadcasting weekdays from 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m., and providing entertainment features and updates from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., effective May 31.

For the last 3 years, Wade has been the midday host at sister station Rhythmic CHR KSSX (95.7 KISS FM)/San Diego and a weekend host on Hot AC KBIG (104.3 MYfm)/Los Angeles. Prior to working in Southern California, Wade’s voice was heard for a dozen years at Z100/New York. Her replacement for the midday slot on 95.7 KISS FM will be announced soon.

“Shelley’s vibrant personality, love of music, and warmth will enhance what is already a top performing radio station,” said John Peake, SVP of Programming, iHeartMedia-San Diego. “We are thrilled to add a talent of Shelley’s caliber to the Star 94.1 lineup.”

“I’ve had such a blast on air at KISS-FM for the last couple years. And now I’m super excited to cross the hallway to join the amazingly talented air staff at Star,” said Wade. “I’m loving working directly under John Peake & Andrew Jeffries…among the best in the business. Thank you to John, Melissa Forrest & Andrew for making this amazing new chapter in journey possible.”
