Rihanna will headline the Super Bowl LVII halftime show, according to an announcement made by the NFL this afternoon.
The Pop star has kept a lower profile when it comes to her music career in recent years, having not performed live since 2018 Grammys. She hasn’t released a new album or toured since 2016 with Anti. Since then, she has focused on her fashion line Fenty and acted in a handful of films.
The news was confirmed across social media accounts from the NFL, Apple Music, Roc Nation, and Rihanna herself, among others, with an identical photo of her arm holding up a football.

Last week it was announced that Apple will take over from Pepsi as the sponsor of the Super Bowl halftime show.
Super Bowl LVII will take place on February 12, 2023 in Glendale, AZ and air on Fox.
