According to Rolling Stone, this month’s Grammy Awards ceremony is being postponed due to concerns over the COVID-19 pandemic. Sources tell the magazine that organizers have not confirmed a new date, but are aiming for some point in March. The 2021 Grammys were originally scheduled for January 31.
The Grammys had already been slated for a more limited broadcast, with no audience and only presenters and performers on stage. Nominees would likely accept their awards remotely, a la the Emmys last year.
Beyoncé leads the 2021 Grammy nominees with nine nods. The Grammy nominations were announced in late November. Trevor Noah is slated to host the show, but Rolling Stone says it is unknown if he will still be a part of the rescheduled ceremony.
The Grammy Awards ceremony is slated for Los Angeles, where COVID-19 cases have skyrocketed over the past month-and-a-half.
