The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has announced the nominees for its Class of 2018, led by Radiohead, Rage Against the Machine, Bon Jovi and Depeche Mode. The rest of the nominees are The Cars, Kate Bush, Judas Priest, Nina Simone, Eurythmics, Dire Straits, J. Geils Band, LL Cool J, MC5, The Meters, The Moody Blues, The Zombies, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan, Sister Rosetta Tharpe and Link Wray.

The top five vote getters are determined by a combination of musicians, members of the industry, historians and a fan vote, and will be revealed this December. The Rock Hall induction ceremony will take place in April of next year in Cleveland.

In order to be eligible for the Hall, an artist must have released their first recording at least 25 years ago. Rolling Stone notes that this is the first appearance on the ballot for for Kate Bush, Dire Straits, Eurythmics, Judas Priest, the Moody Blues, Radiohead, Rage Against The Machine, Nina Simone and Sister Rosetta Tharpe. Also, Radiohead and Rage are the only acts to appear on the ballot this time around in their first year of eligibility.
