Cumulus Media‘s WNBM (Radio 103.9)/New York has been honored by the Bronx Borough President’s Office with a special proclamation recognizing the station’s commitment to community service. Radio 103.9 worked closely with the Office of Bronx Borough President Ruben Diaz Jr. to present a free event for the Bronx community, “New York Salutes America,” hosted on June 29, and enjoyed by over 50,000 people. The event featured fireworks, family activities, balloon artists, magicians and music performances, including music made popular by Bronx artists, many of whom have been inducted into the Bronx Walk of Fame. The fireworks at this successful summer event were made possible by fireworks company, Fireworks by Grucci.
The official proclamation stated: “In recognition of your generous support of the New York Salutes America Fireworks Extravaganza, New York City’s kick off of the Independence Day Celebration, which we proudly host in the Bronx. We thank you for your important role in helping to make this a joyous and memorable celebration for over 50,000 residents and visitors who take part in the festivities. On behalf of the more than 1.4 million residents in the Bronx, I, Ruben Diaz Jr., President of the Borough of the Bronx, am pleased to commend you for your generosity and goodwill to your neighbors and friends.”
