U2‘s long-in-the-works new album Songs of Experience will arrive on December 1, according to The New York Times. The veteran band released their new single “You’re The Best Thing About Me” this morning and will perform the tune on The Tonight Show tomorrow night. The Times article also revealed that Bono‘s contribution to Kendrick Lamar‘s tune “XXX” was a sample of one of the new U2 songs that will be on Songs of Experience.
A new Michael Jackson compilation is on the way this fall. Titled SCREAM, it will include 13 tracks and arrive September 29. SCREAM appears to be a collection of many of Jackson’s classic tracks along with a bonus mash-up titled “Blood on the Dance Floor x Dangerous.” The remix was created by The White Panda and mashes up “Blood on the Dance Floor,” “Dangerous,” “This Place Hotel,” “Leave Me Alone” and “Is It Scary.” A number of events are set to take place celebrating the King of Pop’s legacy around the release of SCREAM, including screenings of his rarely-seen short film Michael Jackson’s Ghosts.
Months ago, Dave Grohl began teasing a mystery Pop star who appears on the upcoming Foo Fighters record Concrete and Gold. In a new Rolling Stone cover story, Grohl spilled the beans that the musician in question is Justin Timberlake. However, JT merely contributed some “la la la” backing vocals to one of the new songs. Grohl also revealed that Paul McCartney plays drums on another new song. Concrete and Gold arrives next Friday, September 15.
