The lineup for the 10th Annual Roots Picnic has been unveiled, topped by Pharrell performing with The Roots themselves. Also on the bill are Lil Wayne, Solange, 21 Savage, Kimbra, Michael Kiwanuka and the “Black Thought & J. Period live mixtape” featuring Fat Joe, Mobb Deep and Scott Storch. The Roots Picnic will be held in the group’s hometown of Philadelphia on June 3.
Ringo Starr revealed on social media that Paul McCartney had recently joined him in the studio, along with his brother-in-law Joe Walsh of the Eagles. Sir Paul was on hand to record with Starr for the Hall of Fame drummer’s next record. They last recorded together when McCartney contributed to two songs on Ringo’s 2010 album Y Not.
Over the weekend, Lana Del Rey released the first taste of her as-yet-unannounced new album. Late last week, posters of the singer appeared in Los Angeles hinting at new music, which turned out to be the song “Love.” A cosmic video for “Love” arrived today and can be seen below:
