A deluxe reissue of The Beatles‘ self-titled “White Album” is on the way to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the landmark double album. The album’s 30 tracks are newly mixed by producer Giles Martin and mix engineer Sam Okell in stereo and 5.1 surround audio, joined by 27 early acoustic demos and 50 session takes, most of which are previously unreleased in any form. The White Album will be released in a variety of packages: a Super Deluxe 7-disc version, a 3-CD Deluxe set and a 2-LP standard vinyl version. It will be released on November 9.
Carrie Underwood debuts at #1 on this week’s Billboard 200 chart, as the Country superstar earned the biggest week for any female artist in 2018 with Cry Pretty. The album earned 266,000 equivalent album units, which was also the biggest overall total for a Country album in over three years, according to Nielsen Music. Cry Pretty sold 251,000 traditional album sales and was bolstered by a ticketing bundle. Underwood also becomes the first woman to have four #1 Country albums on the Billboard chart.
At #2 is Eminem‘s Kamikaze, with rapper 6LACK debuting at #3 with East Atlanta Love Letter. The rest of the top ten is filled out by Drake (#4), Travis Scott (#5), Post Malone (#6), Ariana Grande (#7), Paul McCartney (#8), Nicki Minaj (#9) and Juice WRLD (#10).
Wilco main man Jeff Tweedy has announced a new solo record, titled WARM, due out November 30. Tweedy has a busy fall ahead, with his book Let’s Go (So We Can Get Back): A Memoir of Recording and Discording With Wilco, Etc. on the way November 13 and a solo tour that begins tonight in Bozeman, MT.
