Taylor Swift is teasing something new and if the rumors are true, could be releasing a single this Friday. Swift recently wiped out all her social media accounts and has begun posting mysterious videos of snakes with no further information. It has been three years since the Pop superstar released her smash album 1989. If a new record is on the way, it will be sixth album. The MTV VMAs will be handed out this Sunday night and a music video for this new single is rumored to debut that night as well.
U2 is also teasing fans with hints of new music. Multiple fans of the Rock Hall of Famers received a letter in the mail this week, which features text from William Blake’s Songs of Innocence and Experience. U2’s last album was Songs of Innocence and the sequel Song of Experience has been in the works ever since. On top of the letter are the silhouettes of two individuals with the text “Blackout It’s clear who you are will appear U2.com.” At the bottom, it says “U2 will announce” then a blacked out line “on” and more crossed out wording. Fans are speculating that a new single called “Blackout” as well as Songs of Experience will be formally announced very soon.
Billy Corgan will release his first solo record in over a decade this fall. Titled Ogilala, it was produced by Rick Rubin and will be out on October 13 via BMG. The album is technically being credited to his full name, as “William Patrick Corgan.” The Smashing Pumpkins mastermind will hit the road on a solo tour in support of Ogilala, with multiple night stands set for Brooklyn, Chicago, San Francisco and Los Angeles this October and November.
