Queens of the Stone Age have announced their anticipated new album is titled Villains and was produced by Mark Ronson. In a humorous video directed by and co-starring Liam Lynch, Josh Homme is hooked to a lie detector revealing the title and other information. Ronson makes a cameo and we hear a clip of a new song, titled “Feet Don’t Fail Me,” as well. Watch the clip below:
Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has been honored in his native Denmark by being knighted. Ulrich was officially designated a knight by Danish Crown Prince Frederik. Billboard reports Ulrich was formally knighted on May 26 and received the medal on Monday night while Frederik was in San Francisco. On Metallica’s Instagram, the band wrote, “Does this really mean we must address him as Sir Lars now? Congrats to Lars as he was knighted last night by Frederik, Crown Prince of Denmark. Not bad for a snot-nosed kid from Gentofte!”
The “long list” for Canada’s 2017 Polaris Music Prize has been revealed, with 40 artists making the cut. The “short list” of just ten acts will be announced on July 13. Up for the prestigious award are The Weeknd, Drake, Feist, Carly Rae Jepsen, The New Pornographers, the late Leonard Cohen and many more. The winner of the Polaris Prize will be revealed on September 18.
