The massive lineup for the 2017 Panorama Festival in New York City has been unveiled, led by Frank Ocean, Nine Inch Nails, A Tribe Called Quest and Solange. Ocean and Solange will headline night one (July 28), Tame Impala and Alt-J top night two (July 29) with NIN and Tribe headlining night three (July 30). Other acts playing the weekend include MGMT, Spoon, Belle & Sebastian, Vince Staples, Justice and Andrew McMahon in the Wilderness. It is the first announced Nine Inch Nails performance since August of 2014. This will also be the first A Tribe Called Quest concert following the passing of Phife Dawg and the release of their final album, We Got It From Here… Thank You 4 Your Service.
Green Day has announced a new leg of North American touring in support of 2016’s Revolution Radio. The summer tour begins on August 1 in Auburn, WA and wraps up on September 13 in Chula Vista, CA. Catfish and the Bottlemen will open all dates. Additionally, Rolling Stone reports the rockers will play Chicago’s Wrigley Field and the Rose Bowl in Pasadena later this year, with dates yet to be revealed. Green Day’s spring tour of North America kicks off March 1 in Phoenix.
With the holiday season over, The Weeknd‘s album Starboy returns to #1 on the Billboard 200. The soundtrack to Moana moves up to #2, followed by 24K Magic by Bruno Mars at #3 and Views from Drake at #4. 4 Your Eyez Only from J. Cole is at #5. The top ten is rounded out by the cast recording of Hamilton, Twenty One Pilots and the soundtracks to Sing, Suicide Squad and Trolls, respectively.
A Perfect Circle will hit the road for their first tour in six years. The rockers, led by Tool frontman Maynard James Keenan and guitarist Billy Howerdel, have announced 20 dates, starting with a two night stand in Las Vegas on April 7 and 8. APC will play three festivals along the way as well. Additionally, Howerdel said in statement that “Getting back to writing music with A Perfect Circle is a great way to start the new year.” The last A Perfect Circle record was 2004’s eMOTIVe, which consisted mostly of cover songs.
