One Direction member Liam Payne has inked a solo deal with Republic Records in North America. Republic Records Co-Founder/CEO Monte Lipman comments, “Being a member of the most successful group of the last decade, Liam has a tremendous opportunity to make an even greater impact on pop culture. We’re honored by Liam’s decision to join Republic Records, and have extremely high expectations for his solo career.”
Tomorrow morning, the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame will announce its 2017 nominees. The nominations will be revealed live on SiriusXM via the satcaster’s new music Talk channel Volume. The nominees will be announced on October 18, at 8 am ET, by Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Foundation CEO Joel Peresman and 2014 Rock & Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Stevie Van Zandt, live on Feedback, SiriusXM’s new morning talk-show on Volume.
“Fans and the industry will want to know, and debate, who is worthy enough to be this year’s nominees for the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame,” said Scott Greenstein, SiriusXM President/Chief Content Officer. “We want Volume to be the place people go to find out the latest in music, and why it matters. It’s exciting to work with the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame to broadcast the news to a nation of listeners.”
A box set collecting the entire works of the short lived Seattle band Mother Love Bone will be out November 4. Mother Love Bone featured the late singer Andrew Wood and future Pearl Jam members Jeff Ament and Stone Gossard. Titled On Earth As It Is, the collection re-masters their only album (Apple) and only EP (Shine) on one disc. The box set also compiles B-sides, demos, alternate takes and live tracks. The set also includes The Love Bone Earth Affair, a video that has never been available on DVD, along with other rare video content.
