Drake announced on Monday that he has a new release on the way later this year called Scorpion. A new Instagram post shows Drake wearing a jacket that simply says “Scorpion – June Twenty-Eighteen.” It is expected that Scorpion will be a full-length album and may include his most recent hit singles “God’s Plan” and “Nice for What.”
Kendrick Lamar has won the 2018 Pulitzer Prize for Music, becoming the first non-classic or jazz artist to ever win the award. Lamar was honored for last year’s hit album DAMN. On its website, the Pulitzer board called DAMN. “a virtuosic song collection unified by its vernacular authenticity and rhythmic dynamism that offers affecting vignettes capturing the complexity of modern African-American life.”
J. Cole surprised fans on Monday with the announcement of a new album, titled KOD, arriving this Friday, April 20. The rapper announced a surprise free concert at New York’s Gramercy Theater last night, where he performed the entire new album. KOD will be Cole’s fifth studio album and first since 2016’s 4 Your Eyez Only.
