Adele has won Songwriter of the Year at the 61st Ivor Novello Awards in the UK. It is the second time Adele has won the honor, after winning in 2012. Damon Albarn was given a lifetime achievement award during the ceremony, which are determined by the UK songwriting and composing community.

Founding Beastie Boys member John Berry has passed away at the age of 52. Berry was an original member of the group, playing guitar in the earliest incarnation of the Beasties and was credited with coming up with their name. According to Rolling Stone, Berry was suffering from frontal lobe dementia.
