What fuels your work energy each week for your job?
Frankie V, KSSX/KHTS: When it’s all said and done, I want to look back and know that I gave it my all! We can’t control a lot of things in this business, but we can control our work ethic! Watching others, like my brother Mikey V, doing big things, keeps that fuel in my engine burning! Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: I’m a competitive mf-er, and I want to be the best at everything. Jeremy Rice, WXXL: Passion for our brands and my staff and co-workers, producing creative content, and winning! Plus, Cuban coffee! Mike O’Donnell, WKRZ: Love to come in for the music meetings and see what new songs we can get on the air, that continues to excite and motivate me. I’m also very motivated when I have the opportunity to create a really cool promotion that we can do locally. I love doing big contests. Brian Mack, iHeartMedia: Just loving what I do, my purpose and mission is enough. That said, I’m also regimented in my workouts and daily priming for mental/emotional health. My cup gets filled first. |
Buster, WIOQ: WINS! In the streets, in the halls, on-air, in sales. Erik Bradley, B96: The sheer love of the industry, the love of radio, the love of music and for our teammates & audiences. Adam Rivers, WKCI / WKSS: The fact that I love this job and get to interact with so many people. Orlando Davis, WLLD: Inability to get my OnlyFans deal to pop off! Jeff Hurley, iHeartMedia: Rick Rubin. Copious, unhealthy amounts of coffee. Rich Davis, KDWB: My passion for the job. Even if I’m dealing with challenging situations, I still get energized to deal with them. If I wasn’t here as the PD of KD, I would want to be. Derrick Cole, WAEB: My passion used to be the answer. I think now it’s making sure my 3 children have a great future. Kevin Kash, Free Agent: Gotta be my love of the profession. I have always been very fond of broadcasting and radio. That’s what lead me to it, and that’s what keeps me interested in it. |
Randi West, WRMF: Coffee, and connection to our fans. Making a difference in people’s lives is powerful. Jana Sutter, WXXL: The excitement of getting on the air every day! Chris Michaels, FM100: I love when we put together a killer promotion and it all comes together nicely, and you see how excited the listeners react. It’s making that emotional connection that fuels me every day. Rick Vaughn, KENZ: The competitive atmosphere. Analysis and the resulting strategy. I geek out over that stuff. Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: Knowing that every day will be different and full of action. Getting the opportunity to work with people who love what they do as much as I do and want to win as badly as I do…and a slew of vitamins. Valentine, WBHT: Cuban coffees, lattes, and some good dance music. |
