If you were the CEO of any company, what qualities would you instill in the company’s corporate culture?

Adam Rivers, WKCI: A winning mentality, treating everyone at every level with the same amount of respect, encouraging dissenting opinions.

Rich Davis, KDWB: Respect, transparency, forward-thinking, and shared responsibility.

Dom Theodore, Radio Animal Media Strategies: My corporate culture would be one of high-performance through common sense, intelligent risk-taking, careful hiring, and then giving those hires lots of autonomy to succeed.

Buster Satterfield, WIOQ: Manage others the way you deserved to be managed.

Kobe, WUVA: Creative and different ways of thinking, and to never be afraid to explore new initiatives.

Jeff Hurley iHeartMedia: Transparency in decision-making, opportunity for personal and career growth.

Heather Deluca, WSJO: A champion of morale. Filling the staff with self-confidence and appreciating that each employee was hired for a reason, each with a specific skill set. Frequent check-ins with staff and highlighting their strengths and offering support for areas they need to improve. Help employees with desire for growth and continued mentoring to help them reach their full potential.

Bob Patrick, WXLK: That Taco Tuesdays and Casual Fridays become mandatory!

Fish, WKRZ: You have to acknowledge everyone in the company, up and down the chain of command. Team building and equality across the workplace are also very important.

Jana Sutter, WXXL: It would be great to have a work environment based on respect and equality.

Joey Brooks, WKSS: Honesty, integrity, and hard work.

Guy Zapoleon, Zapoleon Consulting: It’s no secret that the best company cultures encourage openness, honesty, and discussion, all of which are rewarded. In the spirit of taking every level of a company and making it better, challenging the status quo rules is not only accepted, but encouraged. Now that Covid has slowed down, station and company meetings with awards for creativity, encouragement, team building and work with the community, should be part of that culture. None of these rules are revolutionary, they’ve been used by the most successful companies and recommended by legendary management experts like P.F. Drucker.

Jammer, WEZB: Everyone gets a 100 percent raise… and then I get fired!

Toby Knapp, WASH: Embrace risk. Embrace failure. Evolution comes through chaos so embrace it. Encourage dissent. Embrace and respect your human capital. Diversity isn’t just a strength — it’s a weapon and remember, we don’t fire people for passionate mistakes.

Max Volume, KOZZ: The greatest good for the greatest number!

Rick Vaughn, KENZ: The hallway is the most important part of the company, and it’s how you treat and respond to people. Manage
the hallway!

Matt Johnson, WPLW: It’s all about “The Brand!” We’ll all do well if we put the brand first.

R Dub, Z90/Magic 92.5: True customer service, including listening and actually solving the customers’ problem instead of sticking to a crappy script. So many companies are just so big, they can’t seem to solve simple problems.

Randi West, WRMF: All of us is better than one of us.

Buzz Knight, Knight Media: Empathy, curiosity, innovation, collaboration, and most of all FUN. At its core we would require diversity of ideas, people, and styles.

Valentine, WBHT: A strong focus on a good work/life balance, incorporating flexible schedules, total transparency, and mentoring programs to help the next gen learn from the pros.

Kevin Kash, WWEG/WIYY: Believe in yourself, believe that you and your team can succeed. Instill a positive attitude within the company, leading by example. Grow the company with hungry, intelligent employees that can multitask with the best of them.
