At the mid-term point of the year, what are your leading candidates for:
Artist of the Year, Songs of the Year, Most Exciting New Artist?

Jagger, KCHZ: Olivia, Oliva, and Olivia! Songs: definitely “Good 4 u,” and you have to give “driver’s license” some props, that started it all for her.

Fish, WKRZ: Justin Bieber has been the consistent standout so far this year; ‘driver’s license” and “Anyone:” Olivia Rodrigo is dominating right now and that’s pretty exciting!

Guy Zapoleon, Zapoleon Consulting: There’s only one choice for both Artist and New Artist and it has to be the phenomenal Olivia Rodrigo! For Song, “Levitating,” which I did my part to bring back from the dead by issuing a red alert when it was dropped by programmers prematurely after peaking on the charts based on streams. I saw when it did get enough spins it was a power (more needed post-Covid) and pushed for folks to put it back into current rotation. Almost everywhere it was put back in, it went to power. Now it’s #1 on the charts!

Mark Adams, KYLD & KIOI: Dua Lipa. Doja Cat “Kiss Me More.” Olivia Rodrigo.

Alex Tear, SiriusXM/Pandora: Olivia Rodrigo, “Levitating,” Tate McRae.

Drew Heyman, WHYI: Dua Lipa and The Weeknd, “driver’s license,” Olivia Rodrigo.

Jammer, WEZB: Olivia Rodrigo. All of the Olivia Rodrigo hits. Olivia Rodrigo.

Dom Theodore, Radio Animal Media Strategies: Olivia Rodrigo is an easy contender for more than one of these categories. Also, can’t argue with the success of Dua Lipa with “Levitating” visiting the top twice.

Jana Sutter, WXXL: Artist may come down to Olivia Rodrigo, Justin Bieber, or Taylor Swift who’s had an incredible year even without all the airplay stats. I’m predicting “Bad Habits,” Ed Sheeran’s brilliant new release. Exciting has to be Olivia.

Joey Brooks, WKSS: Olivia Rodrigo, it’s her year. “driver’s license” and “Peaches.” Have to go with Olivia again for new artist.

Bartel, WKTU: Dua Lipa. “Levitating” “Peaches” “Kiss Me More.” Olivia Rodrigo.

Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: Artist: Dua Lipa, The Weeknd, Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Ed Sheeran. Song: “Levitating,” “Save Your Tears,” “Bad Habits,” “Positions,” “driver’s license.” New Artist: Olivia Rodrigo, Tate McRae, 24K Goldn, The Kid Laroi, Glass Animals.

Bob Patrick, WXLK: Olivia Rodrigo, Olivia Rodrigo “driver’s license.” Olivia Rodrigo.

Adam Rivers, WKCI: Olivia Rodrigo, “good 4 u.” Olivia Rodrigo.

Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: Olivia Rodrigo across the board. Honestly, is there really another response?! She’s great for the format, and “driver’s license” is probably the biggest song of the last decade.

Josh Wolff, WAEB: Olivia Rodrigo for Artist and Best New, “Levitating” for Song.

Mike “OD” O’Donnell, WKRZ: Justin Bieber has to get i this year. Songs: “driver’s license”, “Anyone,” “Holy,” “Mood.”  Olivia Rodrigo is about as exciting as it gets this year!

Valentine, WBHT: The Weeknd. “Levitating” and “Blinding Lights.” Breakthrough artist is Olivia Rodrigo.

Matt Johnson, WPLW: Olivia Rodrigo, “Kiss Me More,” Olivia.

Kobe, WZNE: For CHR: Justin Bieber, “Peaches,” Doja Cat. For ALT: twenty-one pilots, “Shy Away’” Girl in Red.

Rick Vaughn, KENZ: I think Olivia Rodrigo runs away with all three this year.

Heather Deluca, WSJO: Olivia Rodrigo, Songs of the Year: “driver’s license,” “Kings & Queens,” “Mood,” “Levitating.” Olivia Rodrigo.
