What are your all-time favorite summer songs, just listening to them evokes thoughts of summer?

Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: “Brandy (You’re a Fine Girl),” summertime in Cape Cod; “My Sharona,” summertime at tennis camp; “Papa Don’t Preach,” summertime in college; “Genie In a Bottle,” summertime in Kansas City; “Sexyback,” summertime in DC.

Rich Davis, KDWB: “Cool Summer” by Bananarama is a great one, going into the nineties “I’ll Be Missing You” by Puff Daddy was a big summer record, Nelly‘s “Hot in Herre” was a big summer song.

Gina Gray, WERO: “Summertime Sadness,” Lana Del Ray; “Summertime,” DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince; and “Under The Boardwalk” which reminds me of my Dad.

Toby Knapp, WASH: DJ Jazzy Jeff & Fresh Prince “Summertime,” Justin Timberlake “Summer Love,” LFO “Summer Girls,” Bryan Adams “Summer of 69,” Don Henley “Boys of Summer” and Katy Perry “California Girls.”

Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: My favorite of all-time would be “Summer Love” by Justin Timberlake. Also, “Party Like a Rockstar” by Shop Boyz holds a special place because it was my first summer as a Music Director.

Rob Roberts, WRQX: Unplanned Ying and Yang here. “Summer Girls” by LFO because the guys worked as our house band at Y100 all that summer. But the other is Don Henley “Boys Of Summer” which came out in the fall of ‘84 but was the first song I ever added as a PD, so I always get a little “summer” rush whenever I hear it.

Randi West, WMTX: DMX “Party Up.” I know, that’s the HOT AC girl saying this LOL.

Rod Phillips, iHeartMedia: Kid Rock “All Summer Long,” and any other Kid Rock song.

JB King, KLUC: DJ Jazzy Jeff & the Fresh Prince “Summertime,” LFO “Summer Girls,” Nocera “Summertime, Summertime.”

Erik Bradley, B96: The one that immediately comes to mind is Def Leppard “Pour Some Sugar On Me”, which was THE SONG at Top 40 for the period of time leading up to my high school graduation back in 1988.

Java Joel, WAKS: Anything from the summer of ’84 – hands-down the best summer for CHR EVER – Huge hits like “When Doves Cry”, “Dancing In The Dark”, “Ghostbusters”, “What’s Love Got To Do With It” PLUS lost classics like “Breakin’… There’s No Stoppin’ Us” by Ollie & Jerry, “10-9-8” by Face To Face, “Modern Day Delilah” by Van Stephenson. Even the stiffs were brilliant. Get me a time machine, stat. Cuz the summer of 2018 (Post Malone notwithstanding) blowwwwwwwwwwwws! (Hey you kids, get off my lawn!)

Kobe, WWHT: Stevie B “Spring Love,” Len “Steal My Sunshine,” Fat Joe “Lean Back.”

Brian Mack, WXXL: “Summertime,” DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince is definitely one of my favorites. Anything by The Beach Boys, especially anything off the Pet Sounds album.

Bob Patrick, WXLK: “Summertime” by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince (Duh!) and EMF “Unbelievable.” Also, “Take Me In Your Arms” by Lil’ Suzy.

Jason LaChance, Radio Merced: Skindred – “That’s My Jam”

Mase, CD1025: “Mr. Plow”

Big Rob, KSME: My ultimate summer song is “Summertime” by DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. My jam!

Mike McCoy, WNCI: They may not be summer songs per se, but I do love listening to them in the summer on my porch at nights. Stevie B “Spring Love” is great, more of a spring song but it works for me. I could listen to Journey “Don’t Stop Believing” all year ‘round, especially in the summer. That might just be the all-tine greatest song ever. Pick almost anything from Hall & Oates. Old school Country too like “Restless Heart” and “Bluest Eyes in Texas.” I could go on and on…

Joey Brooks, WHYI/WMIA: I’m from Boston so LFO “Summer Girls” is always in rotation every year!

Mike McVay, Cumulus Media: “Summer” by War.

Matt Johnson, KSLZ: “Gettin’ Jiggy Wit It!”! Nah nah nah na-na-na!

Fish Boy, WKRZ: “Summertime,” DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince; “Sunset Grill,” Don Henley; and from the ‘oldies but goodies” stack, “Surf City,” Jan & Dean, and anything by The Beach Boys.

Brian Michel, iHeartMedia / Atlanta: Kenny Chesney, “Summertime,” Kenny Chesney “Beer In Mexico,” Jake Owen, “Summer Jam,” Kid Rock “All Summer Long,” Bill Withers “Lovely Day,” Ice Cube “It Was A Good Day,” Katy Perry “California Girls.”

Valentine, WBHT: “Summertime,” DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince…so cliché but come on!

Nik Rivers, WLKK: “Dead Giveaway” by Charles Ramsey
