What is your number one escape in life where your time is completely yours?
Brian Mack, iHeartMedia: Playing bass in a cover band, playing ice hockey, traveling with my wife! Valentine, WBHT: On the bike or on a hike! Between not wanting to crash and die or zero cell service…it’s easy to let it go to voicemail. My give ‘a damns’ are on vacation. Jeremy Rice, WXXL: Usually running. Toby Knapp, WASH: Going home to Corpus Christi, Texas or back to Central PA or some of the markets I worked in to just enjoy life and what it has to offer. Funny how along the ‘way’ in this life, I failed to appreciate things along the way others took for granted. Never hurts to go someplace new or to leave the country, either.
Bob Patrick, WXLK: Whenever I get the chance to go back home to South Jersey. Frankly, everyone I know up there has stuff to do Monday through Friday between 7am and 6pm so it’s entirely up to me what I do with my time. Can’t wait to go back next month. JERSEY BABY! Heather Deluca, WSJO: The hair salon! That’s ME time! |
Derrick Cole, WAEB: With 3 children, I guess the only time that is completely mine is sleeping. So being asleep is my number one escape. (They sometimes take this too.) Tommy Chuck, WFLZ: Watching my 12-year-old son play baseball.
Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: Anytime I get to be out in nature whether it’s hiking or canoeing, that’s my time! Jammer, WEZB: Sleeping.
R Dub!, Z90 / Magic 92.5: Wandering the streets of a far-away country most haven’t heard of. Completely unplugged and off the grid. No way to contact me and no one knows or recognizes me. This is a great escape! Adam Rivers, WKCI / WKSS: The golf course when I’m not playing with my idiot friends.
Matt Johnson, WPLW: Meditation. Kid Jay, iHeartMedia: Nothing better than heading down to the beach and just staring off into the Pacific Ocean for hours! Sleep is close second though! |
Buster, WIOQ: My PlayStation 5 and home studio are my getaway. Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: I guess on an airplane without Wi-Fi.
Dom Theodore, Radio Animal Media Strategies: My backyard all summer! Jeff Hurley, iHeartMedia: Running. It’s probably the only time I can really unplug from everything for an hour. I always listen to one of my running playlists instead of radio stations while I run. If I listen to a station, I start thinking about programming and it feels like work.
Otis Maher, WWPW: 100% being on a lake with music playing and not phone! My peace. |
