Halfway through 2022, which new artists excite you the most so far and what qualities do you see in them?

Rich Davis, KDWB: I think there might be something with this Kate Bush girl (lol!). In another lane, I would say Jack Harlow has arrived, Dove Cameron has a shot, Tate McCrae’s really good, and I’ve been a fan of Leah Kate before she was on my station and I always thought she definitely has the chops.

Mike O’Donnell, WKRZ: Nicky Youre, unique sound, “Sunroof” is a great summer song. He has to have more.

R Dub, Z90/Magic 92.5: Kate Bush. I think she has a bright future ahead of her.

Elise, WPLW: Tate McCrae is great. She has the stage presence, she’s a dancer as well as a singer ad she sings what’s relevant to young girls right now. On the male side, The Kid Laroi and Iann Dior. They both have that swagger and trendiness about them. They’re the next Post Malone.

Buster Satterfield, WIOQ: Armani White form West Philly. Song is called “Billie Eilish” on Def Jam. FIRE!

Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: Stephen Sanchez with the right song could be a star. Big believer!  Dove Cameron has a shot. She’s already a star and has a lot of things going for her and the music is finally starting to materialize for her. Jack Harlow’s been bubbling a couple of years and I think he proved he can be a core artist this year.

Drew Heyman, WHYI: Nicky Youre “Sun Roof” It’s the 1st real TikTok record to become a real record, A summer HIT!

Orlando Davis, WLLD: The Nigerian wave is refreshing. Tempo’d records, with a cool, summer vibe like Pheelz “Finesse” and also Muni Long, who sounds great on “Baby Boo” as well.

Java Joel, WHBC: Em Beihold “Numb Little Bug” is just about a good pop song as you’re gonna get in 2022. Joji already has a solid body of work. He’ll be around awhile. And this “Kate Bush” I keep hearing about. I think she may be onto something.

Valentine, WBHT: The Kid Laroi. What he’s done so far at a young age is very impressive. He gets it. Star!

Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: Dove Cameron, Em Beihold, Nicky Youre and Joji.

Bob Patrick, WXLK: Dove Cameron and Em Beihold. Interested to hear their follow up singles.

Matt Johnson, WPLW: I’m concerned about artist development by both records and radio.

Josh Wolff, WAEB: Nicky Youre. He seems to be a good songwriter with a good head on his shoulders and his debut single is off to the races and I can’t wait to see how well his promising career develops.

Rick Vaughn, KENZ: Joji, massive fanbase which is something we need to pay attention to.
