What overrated and underrated streaming shows have you seen this year?

Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: Editor’s Note: many of these weren’t my choice: Babysitter’s Club, Daisy Jones and the Six, Hack My Home, The Summer I Turned Pretty, Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Abbott Elementary, Jury Duty.
Valentine, WBHT: The Bear, Succession, The Last of Us, Ted Lasso, Stranger Things. The ones I never got into were Bridgerton and Yellowstone. Erik Bradley, B96: Underrated: Jack Ryan. Also liked, The Lincoln Lawyer. Jammer, WEZB: The Righteous Gemstones on Netflix so funny! Suits, and I just started Lost, never saw it. |
Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: Man in the High Castle on Amazon is overrated. It’s super-high trending and an interesting concept, but a very boring show. Facing Nolan is underrated. Just a fabulous show! Also underrated is Jury Duty, brilliantly done!
Adam Rivers, WKCI / WKSS: I honestly have had time to watch 0 this year. Sorry Netflix. Rick Vaughn, KENZ: I liked Arnold on Netflix. I learned some things about Schwarzenegger that I didn’t know. It’s a pretty good story. I never watched Suits the first time around, so I decided to go there now. Just a few episodes in, it’s a good show. Matt Johnson, WPLW: Don’t have a whole lot of time for TV but I really enjoyed The Bear now in season 2.

Guy Zapoleon, Zapoleon Consulting: For 2023 Most underrated are these British Crime shows, all are excellent: Endeavour (the best), Line of Duty, Happy Valley, Luther, Season 5 CB Strike (yes put subtitles on these since accents are thick). I loved: Succession (the best), Ozark, Last of Us, House Of Dragon, White Lotus, and Outlander. Handmaid Tale and Mandalorian good but slipping. Diplomat, Andor, Westworld overrated. Bartel. WKTU: The White Lotus, The Last Of Us, The Witcher, Hacks and Kim’s Convenience. Bob Patrick, WXLK: Not really a streaming guy but I do stream The Dan Patrick Show on Peacock every morning. |
Rich Davis, KDWB: I’m probably late to this party but I heard about Drive To Survive on Netflix which is all about Formula-1, and I started season 1 recently and it is great. The storylines go behind the scenes of everything that goes on with those guys and their race teams and it’s awesome. I started watching the much talked about Jury Duty and I thought it was kind of cool, but my wife thought it was dumb.
Drew Heyman, WHYI: I know I’m super late to the party but Ted Lasso. So GOOD!
Jeff Hurley, iHeartMedia: Not many overrated ones. I’ve been very choosy with my watching habits. Top 5 of the year: Letterkenny, What We Do in the Shadows, Andor, The Bear, The Witcher (although season 3 has been really confusing so far).
