What are some good things and some not-so-good things about summertime?

Jeremy Rice, WXXL: Obviously, it gets too hot, ironically, I hated the heat in NY but I’m OK with it in FLA. For broadcasting, everyone’s schedule is all over the place, no school, lots of vacations, but it also gives us an opportunity for more “fun feel good” content. I absolutely LOVE when it gets dark late, I remember being in Scotland and Iceland where the sun never really sets. In NY Hate Hate Hate crowded beaches, but we don’t really have that problem here, it’s always a beach day for ten months of the year. The daily Florida summer storms are very dangerous if you’re stuck driving, but they also can be very cool as a spectator.

Mike O’Donnell, WKRZ: The good thing is you get to go on vacation a few times, the bad thing is vacation ends too early when you have to go back to work.

Otis Maher, WWPW: Good: Those big Summer hit songs and beach days! Not so good: The scorching heat that makes you feel like you’re being slow smoked for flavor, and it’s accompanied by the fried skin pain of forgetting sunscreen! NEED ALOE NOW!

Erik Bradley, B96: Good: Love the summertime energy, baseball season in full-swing, July 4th, LDW, my birthday (haha), in general summertime Chi just always delivers. Not so good: Don’t like the excessive heat in Texas, and working when so many are on vacation (I need to take a vaca one of these years!!)

Jeff Hurley, iHeartMedia: BAD: I’m beginning to wonder if there will be any days under 90 degrees this summer.  GOOD: Weekends at the shore with the kids.

Bob Patrick, WXLK: Good: Vacation. Not so good: The heat and humidity.

Chris Michaels, FM100:  My family loves going to water parks and the longer daylight hours in the summer. There is only one downside to the summer, and that is when you get 100 degree heat for several days in a row.

Matt Johnson, WPLW: Good: It’s light out longer. Not so good: Humidity.

Buster, WIOQ: Good: Day drinking at the beach. Not so good: Sun Burn!

Kid Jay, iHeartMedia: Good: Sun – Finally some sun, outdoors activities, beach, Tanning, etc. Not so good: Sun – When its 100 plus daily in August & September in Riverside, California.

Rick Vaughn, KENZ: Hiking fishing, hunting, just being outside all the time! Not so great, every year seems to be a little bit hotter.

Drew Heyman, WHYI: Good: Kids out on the playgrounds and in the parks. Just in vacation mode in general. Not so good: Hurricane season at least in Miami!

Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: Good things: warm weather, family vacations, more daylight, barbeques, ice cream. Not-so-good: humidity, sunburn, mosquitos.

Randi West, WRMF: Usually summer is concert season which is a great thing and a bad thing due to many shows in amphitheaters or outdoor venues. Weather is definitely a factor.

Adam Rivers, WKCI / WKSS: Good things: Concerts and going to the beach. Not so good: It’s too damn hot for me.

Toby Knapp, WASH: Good: vacation. Sun. Swimming. Boating. Outdoor stuff and generally amazing music – on air and live during shed season. Not so good: Heat. Hurricane season. Crowds traveling at airports and packed beaches and lakes. Danny Ocean in a speedo. Little things like that in the heat can be very dangerous.

Danny Ocean, WSBG: Good: Warm temps, convertible weather, Phillies Baseball, Vacations, outside activities, concerts, the pool, and the beach. Not so good: Extreme heat and weather and summer is too short and goes by way too fast.

Rich Davis, KDWB: Summertime in Minnesota is good because you can actually go outside…for a couple weeks. Bad part is the mosquitoes, they are brutal here, especially when we’ve had as much rain as we have so far this season.

Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: Love baseball season and just being outdoors a lot! I’m man outdoors person, especially in a city like Nashville where there’s always something going on. The bad thing is that it feels like 150 degrees all the time.

Derrick Cole, WAEB: Good: Summer is just the sun setting late and being outside in general. Not so good: How fast summer fills up with things to do along with how fast summer itself goes.

Mike Klein, WZFT: Good: It’s great time of year to get out and need more listeners and broadcast live in different parts of Baltimore. Not so good: It’s also extremely hot outside.

Jammer, WEZB: Good: Not cold. Not so good: Too hot!

Brian Mack, iHeartMedia: In Florida! The heat index – bad. Tourist crowds – better.

R Dub!, Z90/Magic 92.5: Good: Pool and beach time! Not so good: Bugs.

Valentine, WBHT: The good list is long. From those warm summer nights and not getting dark till 9, to all that free vitamin D. The bad…trying to find coverage for all the summer vacations. Also, the fact summer ends, sucks.

Big Rob, KKPL/KMAX: Love hitting the pools, but hate mowing my grass. The warmer weather and longer days are great, but the heat has been HOT this year so far.
