Bob Patrick, WXLK: Did not watch much but did enjoy Lizzo, Alicia Keys & Boyz II Men, Lil Nas X and Demi Lovato.

Jordan, KSLZ: I thought the Grammys were just ok. Alicia Keys did an amazing job given the circumstances surrounding her as the awards began. Performance highlights include Camila Cabello, Billie Eilish and Gary Clark Jr.

Java Joel, WAKS: Billie Eilish and Finneas. Most interesting thing on pop radio now. Labels: This doesn’t mean we want 10 copycat/sub-par Billie ripoffs!

Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: So many memorable performances, but my favorites were Demi Lovato, Lil Nas X, Alicia Keys (who was outstanding as host and handled the tragic timing of Kobe’s death with poise), Lizzo and of course, Billie Eilish.

Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: Actually, I thought the Grammys were really strong this year. Don’t typically love Alicia Keys hosting things, but thought her personality and compassion were a great fit considering the circumstances of the day. The Demi performance was incredible and by far the highlight of the day.

Bartel. WKTU: With the tragic and horrible news of Kobe, Gianna and others who lost their lives, it was a tough night to celebrate. But, Alicia Keys and many other artists brought the music industry together at a time when we needed something to lift up our spirits. Loved Alicia Keys and Boyz II Men Tribute to Kobe. Lil Nas X & Friends, Tyler, The Creator with Charlie Wilson and Boyz II Men.

Heather Deluca, WSJO: I thought the Grammys were a lot more entertaining this year. But felt more like a concert than awards ceremony, and I’m not sure how I felt about that. They hand out so many OFF camera now. But I have to say what Camila Cabello did with ‘First Man’ singing to her dad in the audience had me in TEARS. Like UGLY crying. The Aerosmith performance was awful with Run DMC forgetting most of the lyrics to ‘Walk This Way’.

Josh Wolff, WAEB: I was impressed with the speed to action to remember Kobe and how timely they were able to adjust the overall mood and flow of the show while paying tribute to him.

Jammer, WEZB: It was cool but didn’t Post Malone and Ed Sheeran own 2019??? Loved Demi Lovato, Alicia Keys doing Lewis Capaldi.

Jonathan Reed, WNOK: Didn’t really it as I was in the midst of moving. I did love Halsey on SNL!

Todd Shannon, WAPE: Overall it was a good show. My highlights include the tribute to Nipsey, Prince, Camilla’s serenade to her dad and Demi’s performance (it’s MUCH stronger than the studio version).

Matt Johnson, KSLZ: I enjoyed them because I watch them every year, but I don’t think an audience in 2020 has the attention span or patience to endure through the length of the show. It’s something from Pop Culture of yesterday. I think all awards shows are from the Pop Culture of yesterday and are badly in need of a reinvention. I thought Demi’s performance was very powerful and certainly a big highlight. Billie Eilish demonstrated that it’s not all about the production, her voice stands on its own and it was so good to see her demonstrate that in front of the entire country.

Orlando, WLLD: The Grammys was great in a lot of ways. Ailicia Keys was the soft, love infused, guide we all needed in that time of raw mourning. The performances were good. Performance highlight was probably Meek‘s Letter to Nipsey into Higher and closing with the images of Nip and Kobe was that wow! #RIPMamba

Kobe, @kobeontheradio: I thought the show was good and they handled the Kobe think appropriately. I also think it was right to have the current three biggest acts in Pop, Billie, Lil Nas X and Lizzo, win most of the awards. It was refreshing not seeing the same old winners win. I thought the Lil Nas X performance was very cool. I like the way they did every remix. I thought Nas coming out with him was very cool as well. The Ariana performance was really good as was Billie’s.

Max Volume, KOZZ: Aerosmith, Gary Clark Jr with The Roots and the “In Memoriam.”
