What is the coolest promo item you’ve received in the past year, and what is your favorite promo item of all-time?
Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: Recently, the shirts, caps and water bottles were flowing in. A couple of labels sent out masks at the beginning of the pandemic which were cool. It kept me from having to buy masks which was great at the time.
Bob Patrick, WXLK: Got a few nice platinum records this past year. It’s always appreciated. My all-time is my Big Sean foam middle finger. Kobe, WUVR: Didn’t receive anything last year, but the coolest thing by far was a Harley Davidson gas tank signed by Godsmack. Lee Abrams mediavisions: That’s a tough one. Those Atlantic Records watches were pretty cool. |
Mike O’Donnell, WKRZ: The most recent one was a Nelly bobblehead, but the neck was broken on it when I opened it up. So, if somebody has an extra one, send it! Coolest ever was the vinyl clock Capitol Records sent out for the Capital Cities “One Minute More” project. I still have it on my wall.
Adam Rivers, WKCI: Always love getting award plaques. Orlando Davis, WLLD: The coolest was the Tyler Herro jersey, signed by him and Jack Harlow. Coolest ever was the 75 years of Capitol Records book. People open that all the time. Serious history. Jana Sutter, WXXL: Recently the hoodies are always a good thing because my daughter quickly seals them. All-time, the iPod was a great promo item back when it first came out. That made a lasting impression. |
Buster Satterfield, WIOQ: Diplo crocs this past year. And my Paul Wall bobblehead is my all-time. Matt “MJ” Johnson, WPLW: Nothing beats personalized plaques. Recently the plaque game has been weak. Guy Zapoleon, Zapoleon Consulting: In the past year a very cool Interscope baseball cap from our friends Brenda and Chris at Interscope. Best promo item I ever received was a special one from the Rolling Stones management back in my K-Earth days, a Mick Jagger autographed harmonica. Second best was an autographed kneepad that Chrissie Hynde of the Pretenders used on stage from WB. Valentine, WBHT: Last year (hands-down) it was the hoodie from Epic. Who doesn’t love a good hoodie when working from home. I also enjoyed the giant two-pound bag of Sour Patch Kids from Interscope for the Olivia project. Pretty amazing promo item. |
