What is the one thing you would like to accomplish this year professionally and/or personally?
Elizabethany, WIHT: My goal for this year is to bring back the human connection… personally and professionally. I’ve gotten too robotic. I’m constantly trying to check off things on my to do list or see what I’m missing out on with social media or news, and I’m trying my best to live in every moment. Be excited to meet with people instead of stressing about when I can get it done. Really get to know new people you meet, make them feel welcome, and make them want to reconnect again. And make the time to get creative/try new things instead of reliving the same schedule all the time. This will help my general happiness, but also the show. I want listeners to feel a personal connection to not only myself, but people who call in to the show.
Java Joel, WAKS: I want to lose 25 more pounds and do big things at 96-5 Kiss FM!
Jonathan Reed, WNOK: There’s not really one thing. I want to be able to heal my body, mind and soul. I want to be able to run a 5k. I want to drink less beer. Eat cleaner. 10k Steps a day. Believe in love. Have an open heart and mind. I could go on and on. Kevin Cruise, KUDD/KUUU: One thing I would like to accomplish in 2018 professionally is achieving the goals I have set for myself in-regards-to the stations I’m managing. I’d like to make sure I’m returning every phone call and email – even if it’s not the most exciting message! Mike “OD” O’Donnell, WKRZ: Make my CHR and Country stations #1 and #2 respectively 12+. And get skinny…I think that’s harder. Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: Professionally, a greater focus on cultivating the futures of everyone on my team. Personally, I’d very much like to win the lottery. Toby Knapp, WASH: Professionally: Together with our iHeart DC cluster-mates, to liberate DC from really uninspired, selfish and bland morning radio… by entertaining with something that shows we care and really do what we do to make lives better. Personally: To make the most of every moment I get when I’m unplugged from work. There is so much life to live, and we work so we can live, so let’s go live. Amirite? Jon Zellner. iHeartMedia: Professionally to see if Charlie Walk will still take my calls, and personally to consolidate my storage facilities in New York from 2 to 1. Brian Michel, iHeartMedia / Atlanta: Get my email inbox to zero. Chris Michaels, FM100: To get more steps in on my Fitbit. I started to slack off last year and want to get more steps in each day. Gina Gray, WERO: To return all emails. |
JB King, KLUC: Try to be the best dad that I can to my two little guys.
Casey Reed, WIOQ: I bought myself Ed Sheeran‘s “Little Martin” style guitar for Christmas and am teaching myself to play in 2018! Pro Tip: Piano was easier. R Dub! Z90: Personally, I’m stoked to visit my 100th country this year! Professionally, to get more meaningful product out on the airwaves. Kobi, WNRW/WLGX: Professionally: Pull off a Summer or Fall show. Personally: Go on an actual vacation! Sara Cucci, WBBO: 2018 is already set to be a big year for me personally…I’m getting married May 27th!!! So definitely looking forward to that haha. I’d also like to lose some lbs before that happens but just overall be healthier emotionally and spiritually too. Professionally, B985 is in a 2-county market but only reaches the smaller of the 2 counties so we are always at a disadvantage in our diary books but so far 2018 is looking very promising. With the ratings for the entire market we got a 2.7 25-54 which is the highest the station has ever been! So obviously my goal for next book is to be a 3.0. And as Estee Lauder once said “I never dreamed about success…I worked for it.” Max Volume, KOZZ: Release a Platinum album, host a late night TV show, hit the lottery!
Randy West, WMTX: I’d like to take all of my vacation. Mike Miller, WZFT: Professionally: I don’t want to get fired. Personally: Get heathier and be more active. Jammer, WEZB: Professionally, to just continue and focus on what we do, and that is win! Personally, to stay alive and well. Scotty Finck, Hollywood Records: Professionally to continue to build ‘em and break ‘em! That’s what we Love. To. Do! Personally, I’m in dire need of an exorcist specializing in ridding me of the demon who goes by the name Ken Lucek. Reed Phillips, Sun Media-Paducah, KY: Obviously I’d like to win “New Dad of the Year” award (I have a 7-month-old first kid), that would be my personal goal. Professionally, I can’t wait to grow our Alternative station (103.3 The Bridge). It’s the first of its kind in the market and will be celebrating its first year in February. I was able to talk ownership into the format and it’s been well received. It’s like I had two kids in 2017. Matt Talluto, WBYR: Professionally? Global domination. Or at least the market. Personally? No comment, as I’ve learned from Matt Laurer. Jason Squires, KFRR: To be a better person and the best father I can be. |
JJ Rice, WBLI: I want to improve my golf game, and get my body ready for the 2019 NYC Marathon (pre-training year all of 2018).
Mike McVay, Cumulus Media: Professionally, to see Cumulus reach new All-Time heights in the ratings. Personally, to spend time on furthering my education in Digital Marketing and Consumer Connectivity. Reid, KZZP: Professionally: Work on better time management. Personally: Do a better job of staying shape and taking care of myself. We radio people are workaholics and we need balance in our lives. Kobe, WWHT: To grow my station brand in the market and in the industry, and to grow my own brand personally. Derrick “DC” Cole, WAEB: Professionally, to continue growing and learning is important to me. Personally, my wife says we’re going to try to have a baby this year. Mikey V, Kiss 108: The biggest thing that I want to accomplish, personally, in 2018 is to continue the growth of my brand. It is so much more than just what we say or do between songs. There are so many ways to build a brand. The natural growth of it being heard on the radio is just the beginning. I want to be out and about in Boston as much as possible, making memories with people and doing as they say “shaking hands and kissing babies.” On top of that I want to build my brand by being all over social media interacting with listeners. Lastly, and most important I will be flooding the streets of Boston with our #VBro hats (shout out to the big bro Frankie V)! If you want one just DM me on Instagram @MikeyVOnAir. This is important to me because we get so caught up in our day to day, the run around of radio, that we forget the most important thing. We forget to make a genuine one on one connection with our listeners. So weather it’s a charity event, a bar, a club, a school or anything at all I want to be there! Fish Boy, WKRZ: Professionally a better digital presence and personally work on my time management skills. Rob Roberts, WRQX: I want to take all my vacation days. Have yet to do that in my entire career.
Kevin Kash, WIYY: Professionally, I’d like to acquire more voice over work. Personally, I’d like more warm weather in my life. |
