December 4, 2020

Which artist would you like to give a gift to this holiday season and what is the message behind the gift?

Jammer, WEZB: The Weeknd and Harry Styles. Thank You for the HITS!

JB King, KLUC: Miley Cyrus, I’m sure the more outrageous the better…gift shopping would be fun!

Alex Tear, SiriusXM/Pandora: Shaggy and the gift is “It Wasn’t Me.” Love that dude!

Kobe, WZNE: For ALT, Tame Impala and the message with the gift would be thank you for pushing the boundaries of Alternative music. For Pop, Marshmello for always changing and adapting.

Randi West, WRMF: Post Malone, a lifetime supply of the Olive Garden. (1) Because he’s cool and loves Olive Garden. (2) Because I adore him. (3) Because “Circles” was one of the biggest songs of 2020 and he should celebrate with unlimited breadsticks. The Weeknd, a Grammy because he deserves it.

Matt “MJ” Johnson, matthot1079@hotmail.com: I’m pretty certain Justin Bieber could use a long, convincing hug.

Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: A Grammy for The Weeknd!

Java Joel, Javajoelmurphy@gmail.com: Box of Kleenex for The Weeknd. I’m surprised the dude didn’t get the Grammy love either, but get a grip. Prince didn’t whine when he was snubbed for “When Doves Cry” and THAT was a work of art. An innovation. “Blinding Lights” was a better than average pop song for 2020, but let’s be honest… that’s not saying much, is it? Basically, a novelty record/ode to the 80s. We got people jobless and dying out here and this entitled baby is whining about some bullshit accolade. Put your big boy wants on, Abel and grow the f up. Not everyone gets the gold star, kiddo.

Mikey V, Kiss 108: Justin Bieber. Thank You for making meaningful music and congrats on weathering the storm to be back on top.

Bartel, WKTU: All artists. You all have made this tough year better for all of us by providing us with great music during these challenging times.

Mike “OD” O’Donnell, WKRZ: Why Don’t We and the gift would be for them to get a #1 record with their current single. They do such a great job with radio and they’re always there for us, they truly deserve it…plus “Fallin’” is definitely a smash!

Rick Vaughn, KENZ: James Hetfield. I’d repay him the 100-dollar chip he loaned me in Las Vegas at our blackjack table back in 1999.

Jana Sutter, WXXL: I’d like to give my friend MAX a huge hug and pink baby blanket. He and his wife are expected a daughter any minute!

Jeremy Rice, WBLI: My favorite Xmas song is “Peace On Earth / Little Drummer Boy” by Bing Crosby and David Bowie (aka “God”). However…I have no gift to bring pa-rum pum pum pum, that’s fit to give our King pa- rum pum pum pum.

Buzz Knight, Buzz Knight Media: I’d like to give Steven Van Zandt the gift of Omni Channel distribution for every one of his artists that are part of his Wicked Cool label. His love for these artists is so infectious!

Valentine, WBHT: A Grammy for The Weeknd because they owe him one!

R Dub! Z90: For J-Lo…the key to my heart and a lifetime membership card to the Slow Jams headquarters in San Diego.

Toby Knapp, WASH: Taylor Swift. The MOST emotional moment I had listening to new music was when I heard her song with Bon Iver for the first time. If you don’t know, pour a glass of wine, get your mind right, and let it speak to you. That moment was such a gift, and I got to relive that moment over Thanksgiving weekend when our daughter Kyla, and a friend of mine, were watching her Disney+ documentary. It’s moving. I don’t know if I could ever repay her for that gift… of emotion.

Josh Wolff, WAEB: I’d like to give all the Pop artists who had massive hits this year that our listeners connected with a debt of gratitude! Especially the second half of the year which was loaded with core artists delivering smash hits in succession.

Fish, WKRZ: Ariana Grande, and my gift is a vacation, she’s sure earned it.

Bob Patrick, WXLK: The Weeknd, a Grammy nomination. Thanks for one of the biggest hits of the year.

Jagger, jaggerwthrowdown@gmail.com: An awesome new album full of hits for Rihanna! Now that would be great for all of us. The gift that keeps on giving!

Next Week’s Question Of The Week:
