What is one of the most interesting/unique holiday gifts you’ve ever given or received?

R Dub, Z90/Magic 92.5: A few years ago, we send all of our affiliates “Slow Jam.” You know, jam? Like flavored jam? And “slow,” because…well you know. It was actually REALLY good and a huge hit. PDs told me it was the best they’ve ever had.

Beata Murphy, KIIS: I wouldn’t call it interesting, but a Bottle of the Month wine memberships – cause who doesn’t LOVE wine… There were a few lucky recipients.

Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: Still has to be the Royals season tickets that Patty gave me when we lived in Kansas City, which allowed me to spend many summer nights with my son at Kauffman Stadium back in the 90s.

Josh Wolff, WAEB: While the holidays are so important to recognize people, I think it’s vital we recognize friends and co-workers year-round. So, I prefer to give them small gifts along the way as opposed to one present during the holidays.

Guy Zapoleon, Zapoleon Consulting: For Christmas in 1979, the famous WB Los Angeles rep Chris Crist was nice enough to give different members of the KRTH programming staff gifts from artists we were passionate about. Our music assistant was a Van Halen fan, so she got a used David Lee Roth yellow jock strap he wore at a concert (ugh!) I was a huge Pretenders fan and networked with other RKO MDs about “Brass In Pocket.” So, when I opened up my package, I couldn’t believe my eyes at receiving a signed knee-pad from Chrissie Hynde which I treasure to this day. Chrissie always wore a knee-pad while she sang and played guitar on stage.

Joey Brooks, WKSS: My wife gave me a guitar when we were in college when we first met and I still play every day. One of my most memorable because it was from when we first started dating.

Randi West, WRMF: One that is most memorable and unique were men’s leather bracelets I had made for all 3 of my brothers the year our mother passed away with the longitude and latitude of her final resting spot.

Matt “MJ” Johnson, WPLW: I’m not a very good gift-giver, but the one’s I’ve received that stand out are the handmade drawings my kids used to give me when they were young. I’ve saved them all.

Erik Bradley, WBBM: Best gift that I’ve ever gave was a trip to Hawaii to Matthew for Christmas.

Rich Davis, KDWB: My wife Mandy was the recipient of both of these gifts: a massive stuffed animal, and a diamond necklace. She literally though the stuffed animal was the best gift I ever got her!

Dom Theodore, Radio Animal Media Strategies: My favorite unusual gift came last year when my wife bought me (although really “us”) an outdoor wood-fired pizza oven. It was a big hit with guests this summer.

Drew Heyman, WHYI: Not really something I gave but rather that I received. A few years ago I had a pet hamster that I had lost. I eventually found him, but at Jingle Ball a listener gave me a portrait of me with the hamster on my shoulder. It was unique and thoughtful to say the least.

Joe Breezy, WNFN: I gave a close buddy of mine (actually it was a bet that I lost) and it was “first beer for a year” where I had to buy his first beer every time we hung out for a year.

Jagger, KCHZ: When I was 8-years-old my parents gave me an amazing bike, very cool BMX bike. I was on my way!

Jeff Hurley, iHeartMedia: Several years ago, my wife and I gave our sales manager an autographed, framed photo of us. It still hangs in his office to this day.

Skywalker, WSPK: I am giving my nephew a customized bobble head this year of him in his lacrosse gear. Totally looks like him.. weird but cool!

Mike O’Donnell, WKRZ: I loved it when my wife bought me the entire set of WKRP In Cincinnati series on DVD. Perfect gift for a radio guy. I still watch that.

Bob Patrick, WXLK: Buying my Mom her first Big Screen TV before the flat screen era.

Kobe, WUVR: I once customized a hockey jersey for my cousin and wrote a mock draft pick script. I was like 14 lol.

Buzz Knight, Buzz Knight Media: A friend years ago gave me my name on the scoreboard at Wrigley Field. It put a big smile on my face and still does!

Lee Abrams mediavisions: A radio from my parents in 1962. That was a life definer.
