What are some of your favorite qualities about the market/city you work and live in?
![]() Jonathan Reed, WNOK: I like the fact that this town is centrally located from pretty much everywhere. Less than 2 ½ hours from the mountains and the beaches. The weather is pretty manageable, not too humid in the Summer. A lot of activities and things to do downtown. Chris K, The End: Sacramento county is known for having one of the biggest varieties of ethnicities, which makes it both challenging and fun when you’re trying to please all of them on the radio. The city is also so close to so much of the food that is grown and farmed in the Central Valley, so we (and our restaurants) have fresh food all the time, which led to one of our new slogans, “farm to fork.” So the restaurants are all great! Plus, our proximity to lots of fun destinations, they’re all really close.
Jon Zellner, iHeartMedia: Definite positives and negatives about living in NYC. Positives are: being able to walk to work and having virtually everything you ever need or want within walking distance or delivered to your door. I think everyone knows what the negatives are! Skywalker, WSPK: I love that’s its 60 miles from the energy of NYC but in itself a great area to live. Chris Michaels, FM100: The food is outstanding, the music, Beale Street, people are friendly, Memphis Grizzlies games, I can go on and on. Derrick “DC” Cole, WAEB: Lots of history and art here in Allentown and the Lehigh Valley over all. The people who live here are prideful of this area, and it’s awesome to be a part of it. Also, Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is a high school grad from the Lehigh Valley.
Sassy, WKXJ: That I can’t pronounce it when I’m drunk. Max Volume, KOZZ: Did I mention that Tahoe is 35 minutes from my work desk? Did I mention that the local music scene is (as the Brits say) “crackin!”? |
Todd Shannon, WAPE: I love the competition in the market. I love the company I work for, and I love being 45-minutes from the beach. Doesn’t get any better than that!
Kobi, WNRW/WLGX: Louisville is unique. There is always a festival and or street fair going on. Being downtown on the river is dope and it’s centrally locate to other states and markets. Toby Knapp, WASH: We sit front row as American and world history gets made every day… change is a constant in DC, it’s always evolving, growing, changing… the last 12 years here have been exhilarating. As a news junkie/political animal, it doesn’t get much better than this.
Jeff Hurley, WLAN: 90% of the snack food you consume is created within twenty miles of my house. Hershey’s? Check. Potato chips? All us. Pretzels? We got it.
Gina Gray, WERO: The beach is close, my family is close, and I work for a I work for a great company in a beautiful geographical location. Randi West, WMTX: I mean it’s Tampa. Isn’t this an obvious one? Sunshine year round and the ocean. Paul “Cubby” Bryant, WKTU : I feel that In “New York, Concrete jungle where dreams are made of – There’s nothin’ you can’t do – Now you’re in New York – These streets will make you feel brand new – Big lights will inspire you – Let’s hear it for New York, New York, New York.” Okay, I stole those lyrics from Jay Z but you know what? The song “Empire State of Mind” sums up everything about this great city that I’ve been on the air in for over 22 years. |
![]() Brian Mack, WXXL: It’s pretty impressive how quickly Orlando is GROWING. It’s hard to keep up with the rate. It’s amazing how much commerce is in this ecosystem which gives it the ability to perform on par with WAY bigger cities economically. Mike McCoy, WNCI: Buckeye football and the BIG 10…none of that SEC crap Tommy Chuck!
Matt Johnson, KSLZ: I haven’t been here 100 days yet, but everyone in St Louis is “Midwest Nice” for sure! Jeremy Rice, WBLI: Long Island is AMAZING! You’re one hour from Manhattan, but you don’t have to DEAL with the city on a daily basis. We have the best golf courses, beaches, we have ALL four seasons which is the BEST. Long Islanders are REAL people, they tell it like it is! We have wine country, we have Billy Joel, we have WBLI and WBAB! Oh and the Rice Triplets were also born here in the same hospital as J-Lo’s Twins! STRONG Island!
Brian Michel, iHeartMedia/Atlanta: The airport (direct flights to everywhere). The climate (although can be a bit warm at times). The local music scene (both Country and Hip-Hop). Rod Phillips, iHeartMedia: Nashville is literally booming, but still only a ten-minute drive to feel like you’re in the country. It’s a friendly city too, all are welcome to come hang out for a good time. Sue O’Neil, WKSE: Wings! Seriously we have great local food and four seasons! Chuck Damico, WMMR/WBEN: I love that this is the home of the Super Bowl Champion Philadelphia Eagles. |
