What leaders/trendsetters (in fields other than radio) do you admire the most these days and why?

Tommy Chuck, WFLZ: Kevin Cash and the Tampa Bay Rays front office. With everything against them, and one of the lowest payrolls in baseball, they put together a championship team. They also start trends that seem odd at first and everyone questions. Then a few years later, everybody realizes those things work and they copy them. Rays up!

Joey Brooks, WKSS: Gary Vaynerchuk has such a unique perspective and prompts you to look at things in different ways that connects with people 2021, which I think our industry needs more of. He flips the norms in a different way and suggests it’s time to do something differently.

Rick Vaughn, KENZ: Elon Musk, I just love his attitude.

Matt Johnson, WPLW: I think right now as a country, we’re having a hard time agreeing on anything including “leaders” whether serious or Pop culture. Define a leader today?

R Dub! Z90/Magic 92.5: Elon Musk. I’m a huge EV fan and it’s great to see an American car company be a leader. Plus space rockets.

Jana Sutter, WXXL: Simone Biles, to be able to step up under such scrutiny and highlight mental health in a time when people need that more than ever is absolutely admirable.

Josh Wolff, WAEB: My parents for instilling good values and ethics in me. They set a great example for me in life.

Buzz Knight, Buzz Knight Media: Rishad Tobaccowala is one of my favorites. A man with tremendous vision and integrity who has a great book called Restoring the Soul of Business. We need more soul in our business!

Drew Heyman, WHYI: Jimmy Kimmel. I’m a fan. He’s incredible at always being on point with a great mix of conversation.

Brian Mack, WXXL: I find Tony Robbins to be an interesting person to emulate. Mindfulness, business, finances and self-education have me doing quite a bit of reading.

Bartel, WKTU: I would say I’m intrigued more than admire Elon Musk and what he has done.

Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: I’ve been very impressed with what Jeff Bezos has done. He’s created a company that is something to everyone and has everything for someone. He took a company that was centered around books and built into the consumer empire it is today…plus he went to outer space, the guy is awesome!

Lee Abrams mediavisions: Elon Musk. Fearlessly dreams…and delivers!

Toby Knapp, WASH: Elon Musk, Sir Richard Branson, Jeff Bezos, Bob Iger, Tim Cook, Jose Andres and Alex Lacimoire. Not necessarily in that order. Each of them see the world differently. They’re pushing humanity forward in scientific, artistic, calculated and creative ways, leading talented people in ways which clear the way for creative forces to do what they do. Lacimoire is specifically someone I idolize because his imprint on the DNA of pop culture through his work in film, on stage and in music… really speaks to the heart of who we are becoming. Oh, and Barack and Michelle Obama. For obvious reasons.

Jagger, KCHZ: I like Ryan Reynolds a lot. He’s very creative and one of the funniest actors out there, but he’s also a good businessman. He’s always putting out interesting products and he knows the branding game. I also admire Patrick Mahomes from our Chiefs. He’s the prototypical athlete for one of the most important positions in all of sports. His endorsement career has exploded with all kinds of major consumer brands.

Guy Zapoleon, Zapoleon Consulting: Warren Buffett and Bill and Melinda Gates for their humanitarian efforts and their considerable accomplishments in business. Buffett for his business and investing acumen. Gates for building the most successful software company in the world. The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation is working to provide clean water, nutrition, sanitation, disease control and agricultural development to third-world countries. Gates has also promised to leave the vast majority of his wealth to charity. Among the philanthropy Buffett has been involved with, he has pledged to give away nearly 99% of his accumulated wealth to The Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation after his death.

Kobe, WZNE: Barack Obama because he defined class and dignity with how he handled eight years of opposition and adversity during his time as president. Gary Vaynerchuk because he’s consistently ahead of the curve when it comes to all things digital and social media.
