Which artists from any era would you like to take a long car trip with
and what would be the main topic of conversation?
Alex Tear, Y100 / iHeartMedia Miami: Afrika Bambaataa & The Soul Sonic Force. Funk and Soul historians. They started it all. I would want to hear it all!
Toby Knapp, WASH: Bob Dylan. Jimi Hendrix. John Lennon. Kanye West. Johnny Cash. Chester Bennington. Chris Cornell. Kurt Cobain. The main topic? Life and change. BTW… Shawn Mendes could ride along with us and Halsey. Kobi, WNRW/WLGX: Snoop Dogg, Justin Timberlake and Prince! I’m there would be some interesting conversation for sure. Kobe, WWHT: The Rat Pack and I would just wnt to hear their stories over and over again.
Java Joel/WAKS: Frank Zappa. Talking Politics. Mike “OD” O’Donnell, WKRZ: Elton John and the topic of conversation would be how he has managed to stay relevant for so long in the music industry with all the changes in trends in music. What’s his formula for his succession of hits decade after decade after decade. He’s had an amazing career. Paul “Cubby” Bryant, WKTU: Don McLean, and we’d talk about his Chevy and how much longer until we arrive at the levee. Chris Michaels, FM100: Garth Brooks! We would talk about anything and everything.
Chris K, 106.5 The End: Oasis, they were one of my favorite groups from the nineties. I would just like to see what the dynamic was between those two brothers. The topic I would bring up would be which one of you is the better musician? I think it would take off from there! |
Jonathan Reed, WNOK: John Lennon would be the guy! But then again… John would probably not be as open as I would like for him to be… so let’s go with Paul McCartney. Any topic would be great!
Frankie V, KSSX: Vanilla Ice… I’d like to first rap line for line “Ice Ice Baby” with him… then ask him what really happened in the hotel room with Suge Knight! Jammer, WEZB: Miley Cyrus would be fun and crazy. Reid, KZZP/KMXP: Justin Timberlake would make for some cool conversation. Brian Mack, WXXL: Bono because of the variety of topics we could touch on. We could talk music on a lot of levels both old and new, we could talk politics, we could talk real people things because the few times I’ve met him he was a pretty real person kind of guy. Tony Waitekus, WHTQ: Elvis & Bruno Mars. We talk about and play each other some of our favorite songs. Dom Theodore, Radio Animal Media Strategies: I’d like to have a political conversation, and not to get into sides or anything, with Bruce Springsteen. He’s very political and he’s also very gritty and with my blue-collar background we would have a lot in common, but we view the world through different lenses. It would be a very interesting conversation. Plus, I’m a genuine fan. Gina Gray, WERO: Chris Martin from Coldplay. I would be focused on his songwriting. Where does he go in his heart and mind to deliver the words he delivers? He’s written my life! |
Rick Vaughn, Power 94.9: Rogers Waters and David Gilmour and I would say okay guys it’s time to bury the hatchet and iron everything out and see if we could put together a tour.
Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: John Lennon, Ray Charles, Kurt Cobain. Who knows what the main topic of conversation would be with the amount of weed that would be in that car though. Mike McVay, Cumulus Media: Paul McCartney to hear all the early war stories. Stevie Nicks to hear about her amazing life. Elton John to talk about the lyrics to his songs that were written with Bernie Taupin, and Chuck Berry to hear how he overcame the obstacle of race to become the real father of Rock & Roll. Jon Zellner. iHeartMedia: Paul McCartney, Barbra Streisand, Justin Timberlake, Taylor Swift, we would discuss music and entertainment then and now and where to stop and eat along the way. Fish Boy, WKRZ : All of the members of The Traveling Wiburys. That would be incredible! All hall of fame artists with tons of history and loads of stories. Jeff Hurley, WLAN: Billy Joel and I would make sure I was driving. Mase, WWCD: Johnny Cash, David Bowie or Joe Strummer. We would talk about ANYTHING they wanted to. Kevin Kash, WIYY: I’d ride with Ozzy and Keith Richards and ask them how many lives they have left. |
