Given the strong slate of summer tours on the horizon,
what are you anticipating the most about a return to live shows?
Rick Vaughn, KENZ: Getting out in front of listeners at the shows, it’s free marketing. It’s a huge opportunity. Valentine, WBHT: It’s always great to give away cool experiences to listeners and be an important part of that branding process. Fish, WKRZ: It’ll be nice to see listeners gather once again and soak in the live concert atmosphere. Looking forward to the added benefits of expanding our content and our brands.
Lee Abrams mediavisions: A component in the freedom of a post COVID world. Joey Brooks, WKSS: I’ve been involved with a full slate of Country shows all of last year, so we won’t miss a beat when the Pop shows come around this year.
Twisted Todd, WTPT: Taking about 5 years off of my hearing and early onset tinnitus! \m/ \m/ |
Jonathan Shuford, WRVW: As a fan, I’m excited to see live music again in general. All of us as music fans have been longing to be around other people in those environments again. As a programmer, it’s another touch point and engagement opportunity for our listeners and our brands which is something we’ve really been missing for the past couple of years.
Toby Knapp, WASH: All of them. These artists make their money touring… and they’ve been off the road for what, two years? I think there will be an explosion of live music artistry, the likes of which we’ve never seen before, and I’m here for it. So bring on ALL the tours in all formats! It’s an honor and blessing just to be able to see it all again! EFF YOU COVID WE DONE.
Jana Sutter, WXXL: Ticket giveaways, being on-site at shows, and being a part of the excitement of a great tour. Personally, I’m looking forward to moving myself into some live music. |
Jeff Hurley, iHeartMedia: Just seeing everyone. It’s been 2+ years since we all hung out and rubbed elbows. Getting back to that group of friends and co-workers will be the highlight of summer. Buster Satterfield, WIOQ: Partying with the people. Josh Wolff, WAEB: I’m glad to get back into the business if making a listener’s day with concert ticket giveaways, .and any access we may be able to offer them.
Erik Bradley, WBBM: All of the Audacy tentpole events that are coming this year, including We Can Survive. Kevin Kash, WWEG/WIYY: My biggest anticipation as a fan of live music is that feeling I get once I’ve secured tickets to see a band that I’m really into. Looking forward to concerts has always been a huge rush to me. From a broadcaster’s perspective, it’s anticipating getting the station out to the venues to promote, meet lots of people, give stuff away and own it. |
