What has worked recently that has made
people more passionate about your station?

Billy The Kidd/KHKS: Our personalities doing PSAs about violence over the intro of the Red Jumpsuit Apparatus song. It’s pretty touching and shows we don’t always have to be so in your face all the time.

Kasper/WAKS: Our website. We re-launched it with a lot of cool elements.

Toby Knapp/WIHT: Justin Timberlake, Timbaland and Nelly Furtado.

Maxwell/WNCI: We’ve been utilizing text messaging in our Top 5 Countdown and making our contests more text message driven. It’s working out great.

Trey Morgan/WKCI: We did a community event for NFL Players Weekend. We were the principle sponsor and proceeds went to benefit area schools. We had really good interaction with our listeners.

Bob Patrick/ WXLK: Our new K92 Rewards Program.

Keith Allen/WQEN: We are currently doing a “Baby Idol” promotion and in the first 8 days we’ve received over one million page views on our website. We have also just launched our web stream.

Billy The Baby DJ: Two words: Chris Daughtry. He has a sold-out show coming to town and we are giving away backstage passes.

Mike Rossi/WSTW: The introduction of text messaging.

Brody/WDCG: Making our website more content intensive.

Chase Murphy/WFBC: Text messaging and we are one of the most viewed myspace stations in the Carolinas.

Skywalker/WSPK: Our new morning show, Chris Marino In The Morning.

Josh Strickland/WJIM: We asked the people what they wanted from a radio station and we gave it to them.

Curtis Kay/WDHA: We recently had a men’s expo with all the typical things that guys like. We had Rock music, poker tournaments, car exhibits, things like that. People went nuts for it.

Scott Less/KXFX: Adding some old Iron Maiden and Dio to the rotation. The music tweaking has brought more attention to the station. We’ve gone a little heavier and people are blown away. The non-traditional stuff has gotten more excitement out of our listeners because it’s something people wouldn’t expect from a San Francisco-area station.

Maynard/WCPR: Our perceptuals tell us that we are expected to put on huge shows such as CPR Fest, and when we do, magic happens!

Robyn Lane/WRAT: The Rat Men’s Expo. We have lots of male-leaning vendors such as Skoll, Penthouse pets are there, people can play pool against the New Jersey nine-ball champ, and there’s a Texas Hold ‘Em tournament. It gets people really excited, especially the P1s.

Mase/WKZQ: Our switch from Active to Alternative…ratings went up, nuff said.

Greg Rampage/KFMA: We’re giving away tickets to a sold-out AFI show.

Capone/WHRL: There’ve been a lot of marquee shows coming to Albany lately, and we’ve totally embraced that, so people are stoked about live music again here.

Boomer/WXEG: More listener interaction/feedback via the Web site is helping them get closer to the station.

Dave Hanacek/KJEE: We’ve gotten a surprising amount of positive reaction when we’ve played the newer, U.K. artists.

Leslie Scott/WFXH: All the great concerts we bring through town.

Tony Waitekus/WIXX: Throughout the day we announce keywords that listeners keep track of and enter into the keyword system of our Web page for points. They get to use the points to bid on prizes and people are quite passionate about this. The people whio are into it are really into it.

Kobe/WLDI: Our listeners love the morning show, and we’re just letting them run the show. They’re the foundation of the station. We let the morning show lead the way and the rest of the day is all about creating a memorable experience for the listener.

Mike Kaplan/B97: Our afternoon team, Stevie and Tpot, finally tied the knot. People still stop them and say “are you really married”…. guess we’ve had too many years of those wacky, b.s. promotions which have left a jaded perception of this biz.

Sean “The Rabbi” Tyszler/WMMR: Our A-Z special programming feature.

Tias Schuster/WKRZ: Simplicity in our promotions. Sometimes simple is better.

Eric Chase/WAEB: Operation Snowflake. We inform our listeners with up the minute closings and cancellations before anyone.

Kelly Nash/WNOK: My website at WNOK.com keyword: Nash. My “Nash Trash” section gets about a 1,000 hits a day.
