Post Malone‘s new album Hollywood’s Bleeding easily debuted at #1 on the newest Billboard 200 chart. His second straight #1 album earned 489,000 equivalent album units, which Nielsen Music notes is the second-biggest week for any release in 2019. Of that total, 200,000 were in album sales. Taylor Swift‘s Lover had the largest week on the Billboard 200 overall this year, with 867,000 total units just a few weeks ago. Hollywood’s Bleeding also had the largest streaming week in 2019, with 365.4 million on-demand audio streams in total. Ariana Grande‘s Thank U, Next held the previous record in 2019. The total sales figure for Hollywood’s Bleeding was boosted by a ticket/album bundle as well as multiple bundled merchandise options online.
The aforementioned Lover is at #2 for the second week in a row, with 104,000 equivalent album units. Melanie Martinez debuts at #3 with K-12, her second top ten album and her second album overall. At #4 is Young Thug with So Much Fun, followed by Lil Tecca at #5 and Lizzo at #6. Last week’s #1, Fear Inoculum from Tool, comes in at #7. Billie Eilish is at #8 with Lana Del Rey at #9.
The top ten is rounded by out the debut, self-titled album from supergroup The Highwomen, made up of Brandi Carlile, Natalie Hemby, Maren Morris and Amanda Shires.
