The late rapper Pop Smoke debuts at #1 on this week’s Billboard 200 album chart with Faith, his second posthumous released. Faith earned 88,000 equivalent album units and features over 20 guest stars across its 20 tracks, including Kanye West, Dua Lipa and Future. A deluxe edition with four more tracks was already released less than a week later. Almost exactly a year ago, his album Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon also debuted at #1 on the Billboard 200. Pop Smoke was killed in February of 2020 during a home invasion robbery.
At #2 is a debut from veteran singer-songwriter John Mayer, as Sob Rock earned 84,000 equivalent album units. His last album, The Search for Everything, also debuted at #2 in 2017.
At #3 is Olivia Rodrigo with Sour, followed by Doja Cat‘s Planet Her at #4 and Morgan Wallen with Dangerous: The Double Album at #5.
The top 10 is rounded out by Lil Baby and Lil Durk (#6), Polo G (#7), Dua Lipa (#8), the aforementioned Shoot for the Stars Aim for the Moon from Pop Smoke (#9) and Bo Burnham (#10).
