Panic! at the Disco takes the #1 slot on this week’s Billboard 200 chart, earning the act’s second chart-topping record with Pray for the Wicked. The last Panic! album, Death of a Bachelor, also debuted at #1 in 2016. Pray for the Wicked earned 180,000 equivalent album units, with 151,000 were in traditional album sales according to Nielsen Music. Both figures are the biggest for any Alternative artist thus far in 2018. Pray for the Wicked also impressively sold 26,000 copies on vinyl, the fifth-biggest week for a vinyl release since Nielsen Music began tracking those sales in 1991.
The late XXXTentacion’s album ? climbs to #2 from #3 while his release 17 moves up from #7 to #5. Post Malone is at #3 with beerbongs & bentleys while Everything is Love from The Carters (JAY-Z & Beyoncé) lands at #4.
Country act Dan + Shay earn the only other top ten chart debut this week with their eponymous new record. At #7 is Juice WRLD, follwed by Cardi B at #8, The Greatest Showman soundtrack at #9 and last week’s #1 album, Youngblood from 5 Seconds of Summer, at #10.
