Pop star Olivia Rodrigo had the largest charting week of the year on the Billboard 200, as her debut album Sour earned 295,000 equivalent album units in its first week of availability. Sour surpassed Taylor Swift‘s Fearless (Taylor’s Version), which had an opening week of 291,000 units back in April, according to MRC Data. Rodrigo also had the second-biggest streaming week ever for an album outside the R&B and Hip-Hop genres and second-biggest streaming week for any female artist ever.
Twenty One Pilots had the second-highest debut this week with Scaled and Icy. It’s the duo’s third top five record on the Billboard 200 and earned 75,000 equivalent album units.
J. Cole‘s The Off-Season falls from #1 to #2. Morgan Wallen‘s Dangerous: The Double Album remains at #4, with Moneybagg Yo at #5. Pooh Shiesty comes in at #6, followed by Dua Lipa at #7. The third top ten debut this week comes from rapper 42 Dugg and his release Free Dem Boyz.
The top ten is rounded out by Justin Bieber at #9 and Pop Smoke at #10.
